Hating on Recruits

I know we are all adjusting to the NIL, but the level of vitriol leveled at these recruits who are doing what they believe is best for their current and future situation makes us as a fan base look really bad.
I think it’s very very easy to cast stones and feel like these kids owe us something because they are from the state is ridiculous. To be offered a large sum of money at a young age to set you and your family on a level of comfort, when before a lot of their upbringing was living check to check. The lack of empathy of these kids making decisions that are going to reverberate the rest of their lives and to wish ill on them because they didn’t come to our school…. How many high school academics leave the state and go to ivy leagues, UT etc… and build those economies even though they were raised in Louisiana and could have provided positive benefits to the community if they stayed at home? It’s the same situation. At the end of the day, everyone is going to do the best for themselves and their loved ones. The benefit for the fans and community is secondary, and that’s just the way it is

Fair enough. But so is saying frick the hell off to any kid who decides to troll his home state school for kicks during his announcement. You do that shite and you bring it on yourself.

Folks need to think that if these kids end up in the portal, it won’t look too good on us. The portal is going to be an important tool to offset this bs. We need to be in good standing. Imo

Who got an NIL that is going to set their family up for a life of comfort???? Matthew’s didn’t.

These kids aren't college athletes anymore though, they are minor league pro football players and deserve the criticism thereof

Bullshite. These attention seeking children should stop with the reveal and trolling other schools while they have made up their minds. Through in the parents as well. I don’t buy your line of thinking at all.

Hating is as allowed now as the nfl draft……you make your bed….

It’s LSU or F you. Just as it should be.

frick kids who leave Louisiana...frick em.
Most grow up without solid parenting, white and black, and have very little respect/ discipline/ character outside of their perspective sport.
So they do what they've been taught to do...go get free shite, even if it means giving up the few values you own.
I won't make a difference either way, but a kid who leaves is just pitiful.

Right, they're all still in high school.

They’re 17 or 18 and just got thrown a ton of money out of nowhere by several schools to sign with them. There was no real system in place, no real adults who understood the rules, the unintended consequences and could explain it to them in a way they could understand. It was a wild clusterfrick that makes the AAU system of college basketball look professional and organized. I don’t blame the kids at all. I can’t imagine how hard this was for them, especially the ones without good adult, male guidance.
But I’m a 40-year-old man with kids who understands the clusterfrick this was and isn’t gonna hold this against some other kids who likely don’t know any better. If you’re 25 and pissed, I get it. If you’re a grown man and have let these high schoolers emotionally hurt you to where you are gonna hold grudges against them for the rest of their lives, well, I feel sorry for you. But not really.

They are not just kids. Get out out here with that bullshite. When you are getting paid to play you deserve all acclaim and criticism…. So frick you

Screw'em. I don't want them back at LSU.

You actually believe that going to A&M is in the best interest of these players long term? Why haven’t they been going all along then?

He gladly was paid a hamburger today instead of a steak tomorrow.
I'm paraphrasing of course.

I don't care if these recruits hear negative shite for signing somewhere else! They are happy to take the money, so should also understand with that, be ready to take a lot of criticism and hatred as well. And don't think for a second this doesn't happen on every fan base of every school!! Just looks bad when you turn your back on your state school unless you have a really good reason, like your ex-coach or something.

I remember being young and thinking the same about kids, playing around, picking other schools, wondering why they wouldnt go to LSU. Feeling frusterated etc.
But Im 38 now and I have maturity, so I realize theyre kids, theyre entitled to their own choices, and dont owe LSU anything.
Shut the frick up you pussy.

I'm just going to make a quick point here and the leave... out the front door without any concern for what anyone here thinks about what I'm going to say:
If they signed, they aren't a recruit anymore.
Hate away. They are the enemy.

Exactly. The way people act about recruiting on here and also how they act how kids have bad games really makes me think 90% of this board is in between the ages of 12 and 22.
Otherwise, it makes no sense. Bunch of middle aged and oleder dudes raging about 17-22 year olds playing a game and their decisions about where to play it.
It’s weak as frick. The dudes living and dying by kids choosing other schools are probably the same weak arse dudes that were probably talking shite about Burrow’s performance during his first season here.
I really hope it’s mostly the younger crowd getting all worked up. That would be more understandable.
