Leigh didn’t have the LA ties and wasn’t constantly on campus like Perkins. Not saying we get him but we should certainly have more reason to believe he could end up signing than with Leigh.

Yup. He’s the only high profile LB we’re after.

He’s probably the only LB with a commitable offer from us too!!!!!!

With what has transpired over the past 24 hours, A&M doesn’t look so appealing moving forward. Come back to the boot, Harold!

Maybe A&M talks about leaving SEC might help in his decision to geaux with the good guys.

According to TOS and 24/7 he is the only high profile LB left

The only other LB mentioned is this kid that's trending for WVU and his offer list is WVU, Pitt and Akron...

So yeah....

With Jacoby Matthews in this class, who some have said might be a LB hybrid, swing for the fences for Perkins and save that spot for the portal if he doesn’t come. We’ll be deep at almost every position group next year except we may be losing our entire OL. I think it’s important we build some depth through the portal.

TAMU has given everyone more than enough negative recruiting ammo during the OU/UT expansion. Go for the jugular and get Perkins in the fold

Jacoby is 100% playing safety. That was guaranteed to him according to insiders on 24/7

How many times have we seen this story?

Recruit wants to play a certain position

Gets to LSU and sees the plethora of talent at his position of choice

Then sees a quicker path to the field at the position the coaches wanted them to play all along

Name a player that's worked out for us that way that was an all American or at least consistent starter within the last 10/15 yrs?

I feel like Saban a time at lsu so many players moved over and excelled. Spears, hunt, Webster, Devery, Reed etc

Jacoby was moved around so much it was painful until finally they put him at his comfort in safety

Brooks left because we were going to move him

Beckwith was playing fricking DE before finally going to Mike

The closest success we may have is Kirklin but until he sees consistent playing time at WR I doubt you can use him as an example.

We haven't had the best track record at all moving guys out of position and then becoming successful.

They both came in as OL recruits... they were literally an OT and IOL

We tried making them defensive players and they ended up back on the Oline

You proved my point for me.

Devin White

Devin was adamant about playing RB, so much so we promised to work him at RB or he was not going to commit/come to LSU. He played some LB in high school, but he was a RB, recruited at RB, and wanted to play at RB...point blank. Need forced him to change position and thankfully for LSU and his career he did make that change.

You can call it safety/LB whatever but he’s going to have to cover, he’s gonna blitz, he’s gonna play zone, he’s gonna play man. If we hit on Sage and DD, and Matthews is gonna be on the field, it doesn’t really matter what his “position” is.
