BRADENTON, Fla. – Harlem Berry can fly. There’s no questions about that. Not after Saturday morning.
The soon-to-be-junior won the fastest man competition at Under Armour’s annual Future 50 event with a 4.37 in the 40-yard dash.
Berry, who captured a Lousiana state title in the 100-meter dash with a 10.57 last month, beat Blake Woodby in a photo finish after clocking a 4.41 a few minutes prior in a semifinal heat.
What’s even more notable about Berry’s 4.37 is the fact that the time topped the 4.39 that Colorado running back signee Dylan Edwards ran at last year’s Future 50.
The Future 50 brings together roughly 50 of the nation’s top prospects for a day of competition at IMG Academy. This year's edition features just recruits from the class of 2025. And while there is no formal testing for participants, but the UA staff usually has some of the top skill players race each other after the opening workout of the day.
Berry, who checks in as the Top247’s No. 10 running back in the 2025 cycle, is coming off a sophomore campaign at Metairie (La.) St Martin's Episcopal School in which he averaged just over 15 yards per carry, totaling 1,494 yards and 29 touchdowns on the ground.
The 247Sport’s Crystal Ball favors LSU early on for Berry, but Brian Kelly and the Tigers aren’t the only ones pushing for the speedster as Berry told Brian Dohn of 247Sports that he’s also communicating a lot with coaches at Florida, Texas and Oklahoma. Berry added that he has recently spent time in Baton Rouge, Gainesville and Austin.

And he's probably going to have an even faster time this spring.

How is 247 so off in their evaluation. Everyone else has him top 20 overall and 5 stars

Is the UA game not just seniors anymore? Is that because they already commit before the game?

Yep, this amazed me as well. Think they might re-rank him, like tomorrow...

The article was written last June when the future 50 event was held. 247 has not upgraded his ranking in 7 months, why would they do it tomorrow? There were several context clues in the article that indicated it was written before this past season, like winning the state 100m title last month (track is a spring sport) and highlighting his sophomore season stats.

Him, Simon, Caden, Trey and Kaleb running behind that line with Underwood as QB is an embarrassment of riches.

This! I hope Underwood is paying attention. We also have dang good WR and TE talent on board.

Berry reminds me of former Univ of Texas RB Jamal Charles.

Bryce will have weapons galore! Running backs will be stacked
Receivers will be stacked
TE’s will be stacked!
Line will be stacked
Offense will stacked for years
Just need to fix the D
