if Mett is one and done next year i would venture to say we win the Ship.

I took another look at Kiel's video, and he's awfully similar to Case Keenum (now). Those two guys are about the same size (although Kiel could be 230 or so by the end of his freshman year), and their footwork in the pocket, release, and running styles are nearly identical. Kiel has better armstrength than Keenum probably did in high school.

ND is still the leader. I'm sure we'll get more info after his visit is over.
Notre Dame will NEVER compete for a championship LSU will.
As a State fan, ive always been surprised at the lack of ability LSU has when it comes to landing BIG NAME 5 STAR QBs.
If Kiel was my son Id say if you don't go to LSU you are CRAZY.

Especially now with Kragthorpe here...who is known to develop Qbs with the best of them. With the talent that's always around the qb, I'd like to think Kiel sees what he has to work with here. I'm starting to feel good about this kid. Would be a HUGE pick up!

Miles made an out of the way statement about wanting to recruit a top notch QB this year and that it was very important and he spoke about playing time for freshmen etc...
Maybe he is sending a message to Gunner or to other top QBs that , especially with Krag here ( who has improved JJ/JL in just a season), we will develop QBs and get them ready for Titles and NFL.

Waiting for Mike S to confirm this. Until then, Gunner isn't on LSU's campus today.

So basically a Heisman winner in the making?

Just read that Kiel is also an early enrollee... Jesus getting this guy on campus early could really add a whole extra off season to prep him. Im drooling with excitement. He would be an amazing pickup for the tigers. Those early enrollees always have a good head and a leg up.

Man thsi kid would kill at LSU.
He can come in for Sloppy time next year when games get out of hand. We have a very weak schedule so he will get plenty of PT. But Lets imagine if he accepts a Redshirt. OMG. It will be perfect. Mett/Randall next 2 years then.
Then 3 years with Kiel at the Helm.
ETA: Vandy will never see majot TV or Bowl Games. Education is great.
ND - Great prestige and Exposure but I think Kelly could be in trouble in a few years plus i dont know how well they are recruiting top tier athletes. PLus you cant expereince college. I remember reading a recruits journal about what he experience and they have moral codes etc. He will have bitches eeverywhere in BR.
he will play in best conference with chance to win champisohips every year. The way teh fans have bitched about the QB situation may hurt us a ton.
Easy Choice for LSU if he sees it that way.

nothing to report. The Kiel's barely communicate. We are certainly trying to get something and we hope to have something once the visit is over.

The potential is certainly there. I don't think he would put up gaudy numbers at LSU versus a system like Oklahoma State, Arkansas, or the like, but I think he could be a perfect fit for the pro-style system that Miles/Kragthorpe/Studrawa seem to be gravitating toward with some spread looks mixed in.

I've done a horrible job following recruiting this year, so I'm way out of touch.
Reading and drinking beers learned from the F&D board will cause this problem.

LA produces one every decade, MS doesn't produce big name QB's often, and Texas QB's find it hard to leave a conference that likes to sling the ball for 350 yards/game to go to an SEC school that likes to run the ball 70% of the time. I believe Matt Stafford's dad went to school with Mark Richt hence him choosing UGA over any of the TX schools.

What a joke. nothing to report? how about telling your paid subscribers that a flippin 5 star qb is on our campus. His laziness is such an insult to the people who pay his salary.

I think now days, coming in as a freshman QB anywhere is an uphill battle. There's always a few schools (like LSU last recruiting season) who are in desperate need of a QB, but a majority of the elite schools recruit QB's every single year as they should.
Having said that I think ND is still the team to beat, but I've never seen a recruit turn around and make a return visit so quickly, esp a big name like Kiel. The arky game was a great visit, I was there for the game it was a great atmosphere. I think he wants to play in the SEC, in big games and he's not opposed to being on the sideline for his first two seasons to fully learn the system but he will compete.
once Mett graduates he will be handed the keys to the corvette, could you imagine him in the future with all these weapons

Just look at these names, Athletic QB is the way to go. They add too much to the offense for a defense to scheme for.
Tebow,
V. Young,
Vick,
Newton,
Just think if Andrew Luck had some legs under him. I know he can run, but not like the aforementioned. Those guys dictated the college game.
yeah, just look at these names.
Mauk
leinart
flynn
mcelroy
mccoy
leak
wuerffel
it's the entire team, not just the qb.

Not only that, but the cost to do so I think shows they are really into LSU. I know his family is wealthy, but it is still a costly trip in total. Three plane tickets to Louisiana and back, two game tickets for his mom and dad, and then two more plane tickets to Louisiana and back since his parents joined him again.

Perriloux and Shep were both 5* QBs, within, what, 3 years from each other? Four maybe.
