Another posted thread got me thinking about old recruiting board lore. If you've been around for awhile feel free to post any throwback memory that I have missed:

Gino Joubert - the amateur recruiting stalker

Stevie Douglas - the local talent with assertive father that got away

TK Fleming - would have been well known for his hits on the field, but unfortunately delivered too many off field blows "for kicks"

Lache Seastrunk - BorntobeaTiger had the inside scoop and he was gonna be the GOAT for LSU until somehow he ended up at Oregon

RIP Shooter - One ill fated day back from a road trip to Omaha, an unfortunate and tragic loss to the RAT Squad, and possibly the beginning of the end of that unit.

SirRohan - great recruiting win for the home team when local poster gets our dream job and gets married within the business. Our local success story

Drayton Calhoun - Teacher or friend posted for him in a Q&A before getting to campus, until we found out that it may have breached some rules

Mr. Green - the best insider there ever was. He would copy and paste teasers from insider sites that he did not have a subscription to and pass it off as news.

" U-High AINT Bama's feeder school NOMO!!! Tiger PIPELINE BABY " - jrevonte

Memphisplaya - athletic trainer aiming for the stars, but surrounded by controversy

Shiro Davis - Last minute back stabbing flip to Texas. Blamed tension between the North/South Louisiana recruits to add misdirection and avert attention.

Janzen Jackson - Initially stung, but ended up dogging a bullet there. Enough said on that front

McFarland - 5 star DT out of texas that ended up at Oklahoma. Released inside details about the underworld of recruiting, including sex and drug laden parties at UT and flirty hostesses at LSU

5 for 5 fiasco - So much pain and agony initially, only to find out years later, we got the best possible deal

Storm Johnson - drove all the way from Miami to commit on his birthday only to find out he didnt have an offer. Same happened to Christian Michael who ended up at RB for Texas A&M

Benton/Randle ordeal - Fathers cover up? Didnt want to commit to the same school? Will we ever know?

Valentine and Dexter Blackmon - No cameras in Selma, not sure either of these players truly existed...

JC Copeland - Best DT film ever, just totally undersized and moved to fullback.

The discovery of Wing and Mathieu - the recruiting board knew first what the world would come to learn later

Russell Shepard - Crazy highlight film. His expectations were too high on the field, but as a classmate his recruiting skills were unparalleled.

Tim Molton - Supposedly the best WR ever to not play. He was said to beat Patrick Peterson and other elite DBs in practice, but ended up with some injury that had him transfer to LA Tech. First player I remember to have tons of practice hype, never to be seen in gametime action.

Hart Kid - Had no D1 offers, and set up his school by doing the hat show and faking committing to Cal for his ten minutes of fame.

Feel free to post others. Im sure I missed a bunch. Its been about 10 years for me on this board

Valdemort

Felipe Franks!
Let's hope Travonte Valentine doesn't belong on this list
Then there's Janzen Jackson and the legendary strength of Mickey Johnson - king of the weight room.

I don't know if it's just a recruiting board thing, but there was definitely at least one Mr Clean meltdown on this board.

There was also some Jimmy D meltdowns in the past. Maybe related to Stevie Douglas. Was OBUDan involved that as well, or did he know a different person that melted down? (Dan wasn't the melter, but knew them, from what I remember)

Ahh yes, Voldemort. It was a linebacker that snuck a visit to Baton Rouge on the DL because his coaches were huge UT supporters but was supposed to switch on national signing day, but never happened. Was it Kendall Thompson or something like that? Wonder how he is doing now?

Classic. How on earth did I forget the Mr. Clean melts. I think he was just overly passionate. I believe he finally settled down and started doing local work for Scout

The legend of Houston Bates.

The legend of Dexter Blackmon. Remember there was no film of him because there are no cameras in central Alabama.

Houston Bates, oh yeah. Ended up without a commitable offer late in the game. Ended up at Illinois earning all conference honors. Think he is still playing in the NFL.

The Selma DT I was referring to above is Dexter Blackmon. Forgot his name. Will add it to the OP

And still as handsome as ever.

About JC Copeland, I think he had 22 sacks as a senior.

I've looked back at Texas recruiting classes over the past few years, but I cannot remember the name of the kid.

JC was converted to be the steamroller FB - who dropped the ball going in against Bama. What a load, though.

K.T. - a three-year linebacker who has played in 37 career games, including seven starts ... forced to retire in the summer of 2014 due to injury ... prep All-American who played in the 2011 U.S. Army All-American Bowl

JaMarkus McFarland

Plays backup for the Canadian League. Looks like we didnt miss too hard for him.

Looked up Shiro Davis too and seems like he did very little to nothing at UT

Shout out to thehiddenflask

Awesome that brief period where we thought we had a shot at Terrelle Pryor

Also remember Seantrel Henderson's recruitment being a mini fiasco
