Huh? Guys like him don’t care about competition. He’s by far the best in his class.. and he just committed to a team full of signing corners didn’t he? They also got another former 5 star corner transfer from us..
He shouldn’t care about one corner commit

geez, are you really this dense? Is your reading comprehension really that bad?
I'll try to break it down as simply as I can once again. LSU had 3 spots to fill with 4 prime targets. They were, in order, Surtain, Chase, Foster, and Goodrich. Foster is a QB. They really wanted a SEC quality QB in this class. Thus Foster was a higher priority to LSU than Goodrich. Goodrich was made aware of this and thus LSU felt they had to with hold an offer to him until they saw what the other 3 did. Goodrich said to his self, f that, and committed to Clemson.
In hindsight they should have just taken the first 3 to commit and if it had come down to it, told the 4th one that they are already filled to the 25 limit. But what if that 4th one would have been Surtain? Wasn't an issue because Surtain and Foster went elsewhere.

You are way off base with Foster. He was the sixth choice at best. Top four were Joseph, Surtain, Chase and Goodrich followed by Beal. Foster was an afterthought. He is not an SEC caliber QB and the coaches were not sold on him. There is not a chance in hell that Goodrich was told to wait to commit because of Foster. This whole thread is a farce.

Nope he is here through 2019 whether we like it or not. Next year's schedule is ridiculous and he won't be held accountable for an 8-4 year considering that Bama, Miami, UGA & Auburn will all be ranked ahead of us. So if he goes 8-4 he is coming back for 2019. But if he doesn't build a fence around the in-states recruits in 2019 it will be his last year unless he wins at least 10 games in 2019. And what people need to realize is that Bama only signed 19 recruits this year so they will have the opportunity to sign 31 in 2019. If you don't think you are going to see Saban sightings all of Louisiana this year, YOU ARE WRONG!

What LSU coach Ed Orgeron said in National Signing Day press conference

Then explain the head fricking coach saying this
quote:
If you look at quarterback and cornerback, it was one of the things we wanted to do with the last four. Obviously we were going after Foster and there was no other guy that we wanted. We feel that we have three outstanding quarterbacks on our team but if one of them gets hurt we’ll be very thin. We always thought Patrick was coming. He was our No. 1 cornerback on the board and that never changed. We went after Mario Goodrich but we were just a day too late.

If this is true, then I am really pissed at O, who I am more of a supporter than many of you. Surtain and Goodrich was the two top targets, it sounds like Foster totally fricked us over, and clearly let O believe he was coming to LSU.

He should not have been. You have to factor in likelihood of landing the recruit, and our program does not land QBs late in the cycle, probably because of the recent history of our offense.
Why would we land a decent HS QB late in the cycle when he has no idea of what the offense is going to look like? The alternative is playing for someone that coached a Heisman trophy winner and has a well developed offensive philosophy that's put multiple QBs in the league. It was a no brainer for him.
He would've been a nice get, but prioritizing him over a top 150 player that says he wants to sign right now makes no sense.

So, I'll eat crow on this. My friend that I talked to gave me info that was a little late and had altered course. Told me yesterday when I asked him what happened with Surtain that Surtain signing with bama could be put on Raymond for interviewing with the Dolphins and Goodrich not signing was Robinson and O's fault because they were indeed waiting on Foster who we did not even have a shot with. So, while his info is accurate, it was inaccurate from a time standpoint. He was out of town and either way I'll take the credit for it being bad info at the time I posted.
