Good nola.com article on Mo Hampton's recruitment
nola.com
It details his official visit in which CEO and CPM met with him and his family and explained that he has full support to play both but how they warned how grueling it will be. Both coaches had high praise for his character and are confident he can succeed at the two sports and academics. They also detailed their expectations in regards to his schedule, i.e., football is the priority since it's a football scholly. He must be fully committed in the fall but can still go hit in the cages and workout on off days. In the spring he will have more leeway to miss certain football practices.
Can't wait to watch this guy play and excel. Hopefully he makes it here. The MLB will still be there in 3 years. Come be a Tiger, Mo!

For those who have seen him play both sports, is he better at one or the other?

No problem! It also mentions how Orgeron knows he's taking a risk but that it's a risk he was willing to take. June 3 is going to be a nerve racking day.

I’m sure O’s thinking is even if he does sign, that would make one less awkward conversation with another player about “moving on” considering we need at least 7 people to leave.

Day one starter in the outfield. If he hypothetically wanted to have a football scholarship just to play baseball I would actually do it if I was a coach. Who knows though, maybe he will be a heavy contributor to the football team in 1-2 years as well.

Isn’t it technically 9 right now? 94 needs to get to 85. Ingram and Taylor still count toward it that’s why. Looks like Ingram is for sure in. Taylor probably won’t know till later.

Baseball by far and that is not saying he is not also great at football. My guess would be if he comes to school he will play both sports for two years then focus on baseball his junior year.

He’s way better at baseball. Not to say he’s not good at football but he can be a star in baseball.

Most rankings that I see have him between 30 and 40. Fangraphs has him in the mid 20s, but they haven't updated their list in a long time. The updates will be this coming week or the one after.

Most college coaching staffs can figure out how to maneuver toward reaching that 85 player limit.
