That's bullshite that Rasco wouldn't want to play for LSU. He better stay his arse in Louisiana.
I appreciate the sentiment. And despite the actual numbers, the perception that ECA and JCC coaches hate LSU has, in my limited experience at least, been pretty accurate. Hell, I know more Texas A&M/Dallas Cowboy fans from north Louisiana than I do LSU/Saints fans!
Regardless, what happens if Rasco does cut-and-run to the Criminoles or, even worse, Tejas? Do we then go after Lavelle Lincome (JC)? Put the full-court press on Clowney? Somebody else? Forget about getting another DE this year?

If we close out with MJ and Chucky, it wouldn't be too shabby of a DL class would it? If he goes to UT or FSU, we will probably never see him. And I'm not saying I don't care if we get him, because I would love to have him, but do y'all think it would be THAT big of a loss?

Who cares, the dude is over-rated!

Give me BEEF! I would rather have Chucky and MJ on the inside. Defenseive ends seem to be more plentiful in recruiting every year.

I agree. 1. You want to sign blue chippers top 5 at the position. 2. You never want to let a great player and kid out of the state. The DE position is not a high need after the Las 2 classes. I am just greedy and want the best year in and year out. We will be fine without Rasco and M Johnson. I don't want to lose G Robinson or ODB Jr.

First off I am tired of all the Shreveport is not Louisiana crap. It's not true no matter what map you look at. And Shreveport is LSU country for sure. I live here I know, Now you do have an argument over the Dallas/Saints deal but it's mainly because you get a lot of Dallas games here and Dallas has been better than the Saints in years past for quite some time. As far as ECA goes I agree they have not seemed too worried about supporting the state school. I would not worry too much about ECA though they seem to be declining now since they are not the only big school in Shreveport anymore.

What other big schools are there in Shreveport.?
Posted on 8/10/10 at 9:38 am to LSU Fan Forever 13
Your right about somethings but the ECA decline might be a few years in the waiting. They are defending champs. We have always battled West Monroe and Curtis. Plus many more. Shaw St Aug hahnville Evangel may not win it ever year but that's a damn good program

ECA is in the starts of a decline... No knock on them they are a good program and will still be good for at least a few more years but I don't see ECA staying as strong as they have been. Calvary has just got started give them time but from everything so far they are the next "ECA" around here. They have built a really nice field and have turned a few heads not to mention they will only grow bigger. Parents will no longer have just ECA to look towards as far as good private school with good sports from now on. So that in itself will cut down on the number of talented kids ECA grabs and ECA lost some coaches to Calvary as well... Just saying IMO I look for Calvary to pass ECA up.

If I'm not mistaken, doesn't Hester have his football camp at Calvary? I believe that helps LSU in the future.
And i agree with the poster talking about how N La does care about LSU and the Saints. My whole family is from Shreveport and they are some of the most diehard fans you have ever seen. When i go visit, i see tons of LSU stuff on cars. The Saints may be another story up there, but no doubt is that town an LSU town.

Yes Hester held his camp at Calvary. He also had Steltz and Scott there with him too. Not to mention Chase Pittman is coaching for Calvary as well.

Some confusion on my tweet on Jermauria Rasco. Didn't say he was down to 2 schools. Current top 2, my feel. Texas, FSU, Alabama, LSU in it

And it's easy to understand why those two are at the top, or at least according to Hamilton: They are the last two places he visited. I think that he's a Tiger in the end

I have a lot of friends coaching at Calvary and I wish them the best. But i have been hearing of this so called evangel decline for the last 6 years we will see but if anything they will be equals. When Calvary gets good the city will turn on them too. they just want someone to humble ECA and I understand why we used to run up the score by 50 on these local kids. But I have seen the quality of kids evangel has in the pipeline. Do me this favorite go watch our 6th grade team and then come back and see if you feel the same way. These kids are leaning the system now and playing with each other. Rasco has been at ECA since 6th or 7th grade. We will get 2 or 3 players from other districts but moat of those kids are legacy.

The Monroe TV stations have not shown a Dallas game over a Saints' game since the early 1980s! I know because I lived there and grew up there. NE Louisiana IS LSU country and is Louisina!!!

Calvary is just getting their football going. They are still adding facilities and getting everything in line. Not saying you have not heard ECA is in a decline since then just saying. Give them time to grow, They are just how making the steps. And I never said ECA would not be good or decent anymore... Simply they will not be the super power around town that they once were. Instead of just ECA parents and kids will now have Calvary to choose from as well. It will effect their numbers in some fashion. Also the coaching staff and support has seemed to jump from ECA to Calvary. I do agree ECA is not so loved due to running up the scores etc but that is only a small factor of it. I think the bad press that ECA has gotten over the years has tainted them slightly as well. No need to go into details but as an ECA follower that you appear to be I am sure you prolly have a few ideas running around your head already. ECA will still be good for a few more years and may stay good for a long time, I just don't see them staying so highly now that Calvary is stepping things up. There is another private christian school option who has the funds to complete with ECA and so far their support has been head turning. ECA is no longer the only big school on the block is all I am saying.
Time will tell if ECA declines or not but at the rate things have been going it's not out of the question by any means. As far as legacy goes we will see. No doubt there might be some but I truly believe Calvary will be a big thorn in ECA side. It's already starting to happen and if you can't admit it then your playing favoritism.

I agree with you brother. But moving all the coaches adn families over to a different school wearing a different color is the same thing. To me I like Calvary and ECA. They are one in the same. Its like a family that divided and still does the same thing. Eventually it will catch up to both schools. I have a lot friends coaching at both schools. Evangel has prestige not saying Calvarys isnt coming but as of now if I was a parent adn I wanted my kid to go big time I am going to look at ECA first. then Calvary.
Ronnie Alexander and Bachman are all ECA rpoducts. It willbe same thing all over again and when they become an area powerhouse the city will turn on them and start to route for the next big program. Its only a matter of time. Sad past is all this is over religion not football. I wish Calvary nothing but the best as mentioned before.
My little cousin is on ECA younger team an dhe isnt going anywhere but ECA and trust me that team will be a monster. I hope Calvary gets better it will only bring more attention to the Shreveport.
