I tried to tell those Aggies that things are never simple with the interim guy.
You have to say it in arse chaps and spinning around like the yell leaders. Then they will understand.

You never know the situation. Lindsey may be in worse shape than he thought and take longer to recover so he may step away due to that. And E Rob may come in as the DC and keep Lindsey. Never know.

Haha I knew Elko would frick Robinson out of that position.

Yes who fricking cares this is a business, in any real world the same thing would happen too.

Haha let him come as D line coach and co-dc so he can learn under the great genius Matt House

I wonder if anybody transfers out if Robinson leaves

Witchita where are you hearing this?
Posted on 11/29/23 at 8:31 pm to Tyga4lyfe
Wichita got sources? That would be great!

Yeah agents talking. A&M has 11 million to spend on staff. UGA and Bama spend about 9.
They’re going to make ERob CO-DC with Santucci it looks like.

Ok- I believe what you are saying Byrd.

No, I’m asking if Witchita credible source?
Posted on 11/29/23 at 8:53 pm to Byrdybyrd05
Byrd I was told we’d try to get him here and if he’s not getting dc at atm we have a shot but if he does get the co-dc title I’d think he will stay that’s all I know
BK most definitely isn’t content with things on the defensive side

That’s the Aggie side I’m getting. Idk what he knows but that’s the word from Aggieland.

I'm just having fun. I don't know anything on Reilford. Lol

Thanks for the info! If he gets the co-dc title and bump in pay, I doubt he will leave.

This is big time! This is exactly who we need to start landing. We have to start landing the best defensive talent in the state, not just the best ranked guy but the best guy on film, in person, at camps etc.
We really need to hit grand slams on the new DC (if we go that route) and all these defensive position coaches. That could completely change the trajectory of this defense. We also need to take a deep dive into which players we would like to keep developing or allow to move on so we can replace those guys with better players.
I hope they’ve been drawing these plans up for a while because we need a clear direction, like today. This is a good sign of that. Hire Robinson (or equivalent), an elite DC, DB and LB coach. Followed by landing Reliford, Shone, Hamlin, one or two DL follow Robinson, we retain our best and let go of others then that changes everything. We would still need to do that for the secondary but I actually like our young guys and with a splash DC/assistant hire, I have no doubt we can make up ground there as well.
IMO we still need like 4 solid DB’s (2) safeties (2) outside corners and hopefully we have room. That’s where it gets tough but these coaches know these players better than anyone. If we can pull that off or even come close, Brain Kelly deserves a medal. I’ll even donate a little more to the collective. I hope he gets it done! I really miss the old LSU defenses.
I also think they might need to go a little harder in the offseason training for the defensive players and especially the DL. This defense needs to be challenged and they absolutely need to spend lots of time on simple fundamentals. Pursuit speed, tackle angles, tackle form, tackle finish, leverage, working as one, communication, playing the ball in the air and god I hope they get away from that horrible zone, playing ten yards off. There’s a time and place for that but not on every single down.
