I’m not getting my hopes up again this year, but if we can somehow beat bama this year, it would have massive implications with this class and classes going forward. Putting a chink in the bama armour will change the entire narrative.

seems pretty clear to me that rival programs have figured out ways to attack bama finally... this "lack of staff continuity" thing is pretty intriguing and dead on. very few coaches who recruit you at bama will coach you for more than a year or two.

I said this two weeks ago.

You’re missing the difference between an anonymous internet poster predicting a player to sign with a reporter. You may have better info than the reporter—hell, you could know Roy personally—but it’s more meaningful to use reporters’ predictions as a barometer of which direction the wind is blowing because the reporter is putting his name on it.

I dig your posts, so don’t take this as a slight against you.

Our big bad AD aparently swooped in and forced Roy’s hand, away from poor innocent little Bama who would never pay an LA recruit to sign.

This is honestly something he has harped on on BOL........Woody has this guy shook for some reason! Maybe it’s because Woodward and Emmert are close and they all know how Saban operates.......

Yep. That’s it.....Woodward is family........Saban is/was a friend.......Woody ain’t playing games

The chickens are coming home to roost on this issue. Bama lost what like six coaches from the previous year? There is going to be an impact even if the replacements are as good or near as good as the previous coaches.

And the odds are that not all of them will be and there would be some type of drop off in recruiting. I mean when Lupoi was there him and the others may have been the best recruiters who ever worked under Saban. How could there not be a drop off after so much transition?

Saban is the best in the business at tailoring the pitch to the recruit. He can identify the smallest insecurity and exploit it, see Surtain. He knew the only way that kid wasn't going to LSU was if Raymond left, so he made it appear to be happening and planted enough doubt to open the door. Not even knocking him, it's the nature of the business.

He can smooth over all the coaching transition by upselling the success and draft picks they've had despite it and proclaiming it's the system not the assistant, and he's right to a certain extent. It's LSU's job to either counter that narrative or find another one that means more to the kid.

CBs have been wrong before, but you have to think word is starting to slip out that's making everyone break for the good guys.

Yeah but programs like ours can negative recruit them and basically state Bama's best days are behind and a new sheriff is in town. The best recruiters can do this. The same thing they do we can do as well or any other program. It is about closing.... and other things as well:).

Doesn't he tend to wait until he has solid information vs projecting picks?

Reality is beginning to set in over on the gump board.

Might as well let everyone "commit" to LSU now and when they get crushed by 29+ again, see how good they feel about it.

Shea will wait and put in a CB the day of or day before he announces. He waits until he's sure to not take an X.

I did see a recruit say he picked tOSU over Bama because Bama has so much staff turnover that he wanted the consistency of coaches.

Yep case in point. The OSU was able to sell that angle. We can too.

LOL, looks like the gumps may be getting a little salty. Also, if Vol is right about the Bama commit and a possible flip, that would be amazing.
