frick all the negatives, the guy can flat our recruit and to me, losing Porter and gaining this guy is an equal trade. Matter of fact, I think if we get Wilson, we sign Sestruck. Period. He also recruits the New Orleans area very well which we haven't done in years. Sign the guy and move forward. Not to mention, you're stealing a very good recruiter from Tenn. It's a win, win if you ask me.

Hire Frank Wilson! His running backs have consistently produced outstanding numbers from OP Walker, Ole Miss, USM now Tennessee. His recruiting accumen is unquestioned. His ties to N.O. and LA are a plus.

Where is the downside? Some unsubstantiated rumors about him angling for a position on LSU's staff previously? Maybe that is BS and maybe that just means he really wants to be here. Make it happen.

He meets with Kiffin today. I'm sure he'll put on his best car salesmen pitch to him to keep him in Knoxville. Kiffin won't give him up without a fight. Wilson is his in-roads to La. (NOLA) recruiting which will be benficial to stealing 1 or 2 recruits a year for UT. I think Kiffin and O convince him to stay in Knoxville.

Let's all disparage our next coaching hire...what a great practice for this board!

If you read the full thread I don't think many people are disparaging him. I really hope we can get him on board. He will recruit NOLA really well and let's face it, him being at Tennessee is a pain in our arse. With Wilson gone, no Louisiana recruit would even approach choosing UT over LSU. This current LSU staff has not given proper evaluations on NOLA kids, who many times are more raw then other prospects coming out of high school but have more hunger and potential. They lack the coaching, weight training, and nutrition in HS.

We should worry about position coaches that can actually improve players' performances on the field and improve them as men off the field. We should not hire coaches based upon what athletes they might be able to get in school. Even though Ole Miss defeated us the last two years would you call that program extremely successful. They are in for a rude awakening next year. I would also not model our program based upon what is going on at Tennessee; they are obviously not recruiting based upon character.

Sorry, Eddie Gran is the RB coach at TN, not Frank Wilson. But if he does in fact go to LSU, then good pick up for LSU.

Word is that Gran is talking with FSU.Thought is that is where he goes if Tuberville doesn't get a job this year.He could change the landscape of Florida recruiting.Right now it's Florida with FSU/Miami getting some guys that grew up fans.Florida gets most of the guys they wnt right now.Gran could change that. That would be helpful to LSU.Make the Gators work hard for some of those guys.
