So at 245lb, would Heron be moved to LB?

quote:No, not his game. Most of our LB that play at ~240-250 lbs. came in ~210-220, anyway.

I'm hearing that LSU is coming on hard with Brick and the Chief. MSU boards say its too close to call but still think State has the edge due to Herrin's mom really liking state and our coaches.

Where from? Most are saying he couldn't commit to LSU if he wanted to. No scholly.

MSU board. It's saying Chavis wants him to hold off his commitment and camp at LSU next weekend. Didn't know his offer is uncommitable.
What is the holdup from the LSU camp? Nkemdiche? Other highly rated DEs

Williams and Prevot, none are close to deciding so he's probably all yours Bundy

I get that Williams, Prevot and Nkemdiche are higher on the board and I would definitely agree with that but what happens if we miss on 2 or god forbid all 3? Scraps and whoever we can steal
What about Jaylen Miller (Gaffney, South Carolina)
Under Armour Combine interview video
Athlete Vault Video
According to Eric Guimaraes, LSU has offered.
quote:
DE Jaylen Miller of Gaffney has picked up an offer from LSU. They join Wofford, North Carolina, NC State, Wake Forest, Florida, Duke and Alabama State.
quote:
"I'll probably go to two more after that but then I just want to take visits," said Miller.
He plans to visit Florida and LSU. "I've been trying to get down to Florida for a while and, if possible, I'll go to LSU," he said. "I want to see their campus and learn about them on my own." Miller does not have any favorites.

Tashawn Bower also. Coaches seem pretty high on him.

From my understanding its LSU. Only logical sense when he says he wants to win champiinships. We really arent that far at a 7 hr drive, and no way they winning anytime soon at the miss schools. He will be a tiger tomorrow.

Who else is high enough on the board to pass on Herron?
Sounds like Texas is in a similar situation at DT with Scott Pagano .
quote:
Things have been in something of a holding pattern in recruiting at the position for the last several months, as Dallas Kimball's Justin Manning (offer), former signee and current Trinity Valley CC attendee Quincy Russell (he and the staff parted ways), and SA Madison's Vincent Taylor (no offer) fell off the radar. Bo Davis did make an inquiry about Dodge City CC defensive lineman Marcus Hardison, but there hasn't been any other movement on that front since.

Miller is listed as a DE but is a DT. He's 260+ now. Most schools I know are recruiting him as a DT.
The Texas/Pagano situation is strange. He went all the way to Texas for a camp(Dallas I believe) and was going to visit Texas while on the trip but was told not to waste his time. Now they want him to camp for an offer. $400 for the camp plus over a grand for plane travel just for the possibility of an offer. On their high horse much? That's ridiculous.
Before any Longhorn fans come in bashing the info, check your own sites. It came directly from one of them.

Not saying I agree with them not offering on film alone, but if that is their mentality with the guy, it makes sense.

Is there any way to know for sure if Herron's LSU offer is committable? I've read through this thread and there doesn't seem to be a consensus answer. It's hard to imagine that someone as good as Herron might only be a "wait and see" guy rather than a "welcome aboard". . . but I realize there are some big fish still out there.

This one is too close to call. I've been hearing stuff back and forth today.
I'm feeling he may commit to LSU now.
Congrats on the pickup. Hell of a recruit and good kid.
