When you look at body of work and NFL projections, you’d be pretty dumb to be any type of disappointed that Payton is replacing Swinson.
Like I said, they’re comparable players at a minimum. Plenty of evidence to suggest that something rancid was going on this year at FSU and also evidence that Peoples made Swinson something more than a 4-yr backup which he had been.

Payton had a down year this year in sacks, but the entire team sucked. The DL at LSU is loaded now, and Payton WILL dominate again.

I agree, Verse was on another level. In all fairness the whole team fell off significantly. Almost as if something else is going on down there. I still think Payton is a huge pick up and will play well in our defense.

When Verse transferred from Albany, no one knew if it would translate to P4 like he was able to.
If we signed someone from G5 or FCS Lester and the rest of the bitches would be crying.
Let’s see how Payton’s last year plays out. I’d say his supporting cast and coaching staff are much better at LSU than FSU.
