He has entered the transfer portal and is leaving Texas. He played very little.

D'Andre Christmas-Giles - He finished his Longhorn career playing in 20 games with six total tackles and a tackle for loss.

Wilbon, the Saint Rose, Louisiana product finished his career with 19 total tackles in 36 career games.

Texas DTs Gerald Wilbon and D'Andre Christmas-Giles are both in the transfer portal, per @chris_hummer: https://247sports.com/college/texas

Free 24/7 article - Two New Orleans area natives are leaving Texas as graduate transfers.

The Tigers offered Giles late - Dec 11, 2015 and he chose UT over LSU others like A&M and Tenn.

LSU rarely misjudges Louisiana talent.

He dropped out and negatively impacted our ability to take another graduate transfer.

Wrong on all fronts. He was never a grad transfer and never dropped out. You’re thinking Terrance Alexander

Wilbon could help, he played well against UGA in the Sugar Bowl

We didn’t miss, he was committed to us until signing day and never let the coaches know he was flipping to Texas. He played the coaches IRC.

Davis was an underachiever at Texas. Had a decent senior year. We did not miss anything with him.

This is what I remember. he would have been a good two-deep guy, but nothing special.

Why would Alexander have and affect on LSU transfers in the future. LSU can not walk him to class.

It's the way the rules work for grad transfers to keep schools from abusing the rule that allows them to play immediately. If you could accept a graduate transfer with no "wait a year" penalty to play, then they play the season and simply drop school without finishing their intended course load graduate work, they are essentially just football-only mercenaries. They are barely more than that anyway honestly, so you have to have SOME rule in place to at least keep schools kind of honest. It bit us, but I don't think the rule is bad.

The only Louisiana kid who really panned out at Texas over the past half decade was Malcolm Roach, who was a solid starter.

Jermaine Roberts, Alex Anderson, Garrett Thomas, Christmas-Giles, Peyton Aucoin, and Michael Williams were all busts, and Wilbon was a role playing smaller contributor

Hopefully Myron Warren is more on the Roach end of the spectrum
