from Virginia? Thought we didnt want out of state players anymore after what happened with Jarret and Burtan. I heard we might get "egg on our face" with those OOS guys

He seems to like Penn State too. He's visited there 4-5 times in the last year.

Wiltfong is probably the best in the business. Dude is in the know and a national 247 guy.

Gilbert was probably the one that was incorrect. Nobody saw that one coming for LSU!

That’s going to be when LSU is officially back on the map, when these top OL, DL, QBs and LBs start committing, recruiting and ultimately signing with the Tigers!

The warning signs were there this year when LSU beat out everyone and kept our best front seven players while also dipping into other states for DL’s, LB’s, OL’s and QB’s. LSU kept every Louisiana prospect that we prioritized, no matter who came after them.

There were also small signs from the start of O’s career at LSU, if you weren’t too busy hating him. Ed O and his staff started changing how we recruit the QB position as well as the front seven and the big uglies up front, while keeping the DBU signature and signing the best skill players possible. He prioritized the type of WR’s he wanted and that’s the most polished WR’s in Louisiana and the region. He didn’t just want big/fast super athletes that could transition into WR.

He got the best route runners and pass catchers no matter size or ranking, who he knew would progress fastest in college. Justin Jefferson, Chase, Marshall, Palmer and guys like McMath, Jenkins and the like to provide quality depth. He knew that he didn’t have a mature QB in 2018 but he didn’t send them out amongst the wolves, he took a measured risk and found a QB that would fit his vision while also providing his QB room with great competition and added leadership skills. He’s done a phenomenal job imo.
