what are the odds he would be a Tiger had Katrina never happened? 75 or 80% at least I would guess. Hopefully this is a one time thing and we're not going to have to hear about great players in other states who were displaced by Katrina and now aren't going to LSU

I think anyone would be foolish to say that it didn't play a huge role. I definitely think he'd be at LSU if it weren't for Katrina.

i would like that too but this wont be the last time. unfortunately we'll be hearing about players from all across the country that were displaced bc of katrina and are now not going to lsu for a long time.

Dj Augustin, who was probably a Texas lean anyway, but his family moving to Houston I think pretty much sealed the deal.

Wasn't their a guy last year from a Houston HS that was a La. kid who moved after Katrina also?

I am sure these guys still have strong La. roots but if the family is gonna stay in Texas, Bama etc those roots are not deep enough to make them still consider LSU a home state type of school

correct. it will really start to hit in the next few years....guys that were younger when they moved and now have real roots out of state.

Where the hell did you get that from? Hell, no, I'm not happy it happened. I lived in NOLA for 3 years and it tore me up to see the city hit like that. I went over there 10 days after the storm to help a girlfriend's grandparents dig through their house in Lakeview. I'll never forget carrying 50 years of memories out to the median of the street and just dropping them like they were garbage.

So no, I am not happy for the storm. I would trade DJ, Julio, Trent, and Saban to go back in time and have Katrina never happen so that the people great people of NOLA could have their lives back. This is college football. It's not life.

I got it, but insinuating that anyone would be happy to get a nice LT at the sake of thousands of people lives is pretty shitty.

Katrina forced him to eat Dunkin Doughnuts.

Many jelly filled Dunkin Donuts.

And the mini donuts.

And the box the dounuts were in.

And the tissue.

I don't know how big a difference it made. I mean yeah he grew up a LSU fan, but he has said he wanted to play for Nick Saban a lot. And of course Saban was a legend at LSU and made them a national powerhouse.

And when Fluker committed to Alabama late in 2008, he was living in Biloxi not Alabama, and they moved to Foley. Truth is, if it weren't for the ability to play under Saban, he'd be wearing LSU colors next season.
