Seems like someone may be peeking into the window to see what was going on closer to home.....

quote:

"As time goes on you get to thinking about your parents and everybody coming to see you play," Phillips said. "I'm still with Florida but I'm not going to push anyone out of the picture. I'm going to stay a little open in case something changes or something happens."

Wasn't it about a month or so ago that recruiting was done and he was 120% committed to UF.

Maybe it's down to 99% now?

this is good news for us but it won't hurt florida. they can get another good lb in a month.
at the margins this helps us with collins. instate guy (phillips) wanting to stay close to home. it may hurt us with devall but low probability that we were ever going to get both of them.

Phillips + Collins are huge gets and should be priorities bc talent like that at LB is rare in LA and Collins is a beast.

After that I hope we land Alexander and a DT.

Vadal out of GA, will play on the Oline and would be huge. Les and this staff have pulled a complete 180 on oline recruiting.

people on the rant might disagree but ol play and getting rid of crowton is the difference in the offense this year (improved qb play, krag; improved playcalling, stud).

yea i guess i just had a brainfart either that or the xanax, hehe. i would love to get alexander, it would ake for a great build on our off. line for years to come with last years class. Next year we need to build on the Dt's in a build way.

What makes you say that? What has changed in the last month or so?

I know he's opened his recruiting back up, but that was all of a sudden like. He was one guy everyone thoguht was gone over a month ago.

Let's add some things up...

After he commits, he's firm and says he will take no visits...

Now, he says he has thought about his family and how they wouldn't be able to see him play...

Add in that Chavis is putting the full court press on him...

Plus, LSU is usually good at keeping studs in state...

... and you get Phillips to LSU on NSD. It's my opinion at this time.

Kid went from solid to not taking visits and will now take visits and is being receptive to Chavis. Nuff said.

He was raving about Chavis in that article. You can also add how well our defense has played so far to a reason for him to be opening up to us

Chavis really likes Phillips, and I trust that guy with LB's, but I've been really impressed with R. Brown. Is it Phillips or bust , or is Brown a back-up plan, or first one to commit, (seals the deal)?
