True. With the undeniable talent we have in LA, I never worry about wr's or lb'ers, db's etc. Qe have athletes that can get it done and they are plentiful.

But if LSU gets top OL and DL talent, we are top 10 and hard to beat.

VolTiger does this seem pretty accurate?Does Parker still have his spot if the mystery OT is in the fold and what is your feeling about that #6 spot?

Realistic Targets left on the board with 7 spots to go:
1. Sospher
2. Lee
3. Palmer
4. Emery (Going by your prediction)
5. Parker
6. Not sure. This spot could go in a number of ways.
7. Mystery OT
**LB- Dean, Harris
**DB- Kimbrough, Ray Jones, Bridges
**DL- Sorrels, Stripling

I actually think LSU is a school that can take some of that heat if it comes down to it. We could just say hey things aren't working out numbers wise or tell the recruit when he commits that the offer is contingent on him working hard and developing a little more in the offseason or during his senior season. If the time comes that we need that spot we could just say look we feel like this guy or that guy is working harder and is a better fit for our needs at the moment.

That's also what I like about the early signing period. If you have a guy or two that aren't as good as originally thought and if they don't sign, you can gauge the interest from other top recruits and let him go at that point. Now you have 8 or 9 spots vs 7. If our season takes off this could happen. Then you always have guys that don't make it for one reason or another.

I know this much there's no way I would pass on a recruit who is highly rated and I see a real need for his services. It would be different if we had a TE I thought filled needs and could develop or if they had a highly rated corner we really didn't need but wanted in just to bump our class rank.

I think Ed O should have just taken that corner last year regardless of what he thought of Surtain. We needed to fill that position that bad. Maybe he knew he could get Alexander while also thinking he would help us more in 2018. That doesn't explain the future though. Plus I'm not sure if Goodrich wouldn't be better than Alexander as well. He sure fit what we look for in a corner.

If O doesn't have a plan for these number crunching situations then I agree that he should wait a while longer for some recruits. Our season could very well change things in the minds of these young recruits in a positive way. If that's the case he needs to have a plan for that. I think we need more DLman. I really would like to see at least 3.

Mystery OT candidates (?):

Wanya Morris (Tenn commit)
Darnell Wright (uncommitted)
Kenyon Green (considered hard Aggie commit)
Evan Neal (IMG guy-Miami is big leader)
Javonne Shepherd from Houston is still uncommitted. I like this guy,

Yea, should have explained their omission. Dobbs just committed to MSU a couple weeks ago so I didn't think he would be the one waivering. Quick is an Alabama kid at the same school as Paul Tyson, one of Bama's QB commits, so I did not include him either.

Maybe VolTiger can answer this question, but I wonder if Parker still has his spot if the Mystery OT flips to us?

Any of those would be killer additions.

Is this potential flip committed up north or in the south?

yep, sometimes it can be as simple as telling the "processed" recruit- welp, you had a chance in Dec, things "reset" after that.

Like him ALOT, unfortunately his GF is going to the Shorthorns. Compound that with several visits, they seem to be in driver seat.

Wanya Morris (Tenn commit)
I'm not 5* high on this kid. Don't get me wrong, he's good... just somewhat overrated (right now). He moves extremely well, so for him it would just be a matter of getting stronger it seems. He'll be a 5* OT after some college S&C

Kenyon Green goes without saying.

Evan Neal (IMG guy-Miami is big leader)
would be frigging awesome. Kid is a stud, will be even more studly in short order. Trade some bad weight for some good weight and he'll be formidable. Already moves quite well for a man of his size. That trade and I think he'll physically ready for NFL-prep coaching.

My Hope, other than Neal or Green, (that VolTiger is referring to): Tyler Johnson. He's "well rounded" and not weak in any area. Maybe not superb in all of them, but not lacking anywhere. He's a somewhat long 6'5", which is perfectly acceptable. And he's already a "smart blocker"; very important at the second level, in space, and indicates coachability.

How does the staff feel about Joseph Evans? I know he doesn’t have a lot of big time offers and comes from a small school. Is he in any danger of losing his spot if we had to make room for some higher rated players?

"Not ready to give the name yet because he is committed elsewhere, and they aren't aware that he is on the verge of flipping.... yet. "

If it is or isn't Green he can't tell you the truth, because the coaches don't want that information out. Vol will answer NO to every name so as not to help the school he is committed to, can't you understand that!!!!
