If our current 20 commits remain solid that leaves 6 spots. So based on trends we could be looking at a combination of:

1. Marvin Wilson
2. Phidarian Mathis
3. Chaisson
4. Akers/Etienne (1 of 2)
5. Phillips/Ignot/Levi Jones (1 of 3)
6. Devonta Smith/Nico Collins/McMath (1 of 3)

Maybe Todd Harris if we lose out on one of the other positions.

Is that an accurate assessment? If so, choosing the lower tier prospects across the board would you still be satisfied with this haul?

I read that we will have room for 27, so I would add another linebacker or WR.

Harris is a take if he wants to commit. I just hope we close strong in the front 7 and at wr.

If I had to guess at it at this moment, I would say...

1. Marvin Wilson
2. K'Lavon Chaisson
3. Akers/Etienne. Probably Etienne if Akers goes to FSU, which is starting to look like
4. Jacob Phillips/Tyler Taylor/Will Ignont. We will likely get another ILB and my guess is one of these guys.
5. Devonta Smith/Racey McMath. I think we do get Devonta and we would be set at WR with him, Netherly, and Guidry with the WRs we had last year.
6. Todd Harris
7. Phidarian Mathis

I think getting 27 is a possibility and if our finish is anything similar to this, that would be as good of a finish as you could possibly imagine, and a great way to keep your class pretty much intact considering we changed head coaches and OC. Would like to see us add another OLB too.

Isn't this number significantly affected by the return of Christian Lacouture, and possibility of Dupre/Chark staying/going?

If we can flip Phillips or pull Taylor, I'll be happy with our LB haul. I don't think it's realistic that we get two more there right now. I hope they keep pushing for Willie Gay though.

A class with Queen, Rice, Phillips, and Gay

Jones and Gay won't happen for different reasons IMO but I could see us flipping Phillips

Queen seems pretty locked in and I'm with you on Phillips. Gay doesn't leave Mississippi. I just like to dream.

Everyone is so worried about LB's in this class when the fact is we have quite a few LB/DE and you know Aranda he will be working with some of the best talent in the country at every D position. Aranda more than made his money last year. I think in the 2nd season he will continue to refine the D. Trust me, Aranda has plenty of players that can play OLB and ILB.

We need depth after next year. Alexander and voorhies will be seniors. Thornton can cross train but he's probably better off outside.

No. The 85 really isn't a constraint to class size if a coach doesn't want it to be. You may not like watching the sausage being made, but it can be made. The 25 is the real constraint. WRT recruiting the 85 is only a hard constraint when it comes to the number of EEs. For example, if LaCouture has graduated, then his returning reduces the number of EEs allowed by one vs his leaving.

They backed off because they thought he didn't have a great senior year and put other players higher. No need to bash a kids intelligence and work ethic. What's wrong with you people upvoting that shite?
