Felt like this class could’ve been around 5-8 at one point, don’t see it now

This class is not bad by any means but I would label it as okay.
Auburn currently has a higher ranked recruiting class than LSU.
Obviously a lot more time but losing McKinley and Wardell Mack after the season our defense just had is brutal.
We could be in for a few year roster turnaround before we our competing for a natty.

Let’s not sugar coat it. This is a bad class in comparison. 6th best in SEC and if you throw in Tx and Ok they are
8th. That is not going to cut it!!

Yeah, prepare for the downvotes

Have to win the portal where you need to
This is due to a lack of recruiters/coaches in the defensive staff.

Yet zero firings? Need to clean “House” and get replacements in place to maybe salvage a little for 2024 class and solidify 2025. The longer they wait the less likely that happens.

They haven’t happened yet but there will be

Who’s it going to be?

We're ranked 14th on 247. We haven't had a class ranked this poorly since 2018, and that's when we were going through a head coaching change.
5-7 Florida has a significantly higher ranked class than LSU right now. Hugh Freeze has barely been at Auburn for a year and yet Auburn has a higher ranked class than LSU. Given the turmoil other SEC programs are going through, there's really no excuse for having such a low ranked class.
The complete inability of this staff to recruit elite CBs is inexcusable.
The writing was on the wall earlier in the year, but we were told "it's only April/June/August/October". Well, now we're a few weeks out from signing day and here we are, with a class siting well outside the top 12.

You guys are panicking for no reason. Do you know what was brutal in recruiting? Landon Collins, Devonta Smith, Cam Robinson, Dylan Moses, Pat Surtain, etc... Even after the 2019 Championship season recruiting was bad. Let's not act like it just got bad because of Brian Kelly....
Posted on 12/1/23 at 6:10 pm to BK785
Even with losing those guys, we replaced them with good talent. Right now, we are losing the in state guys and not replacing them with anyone. We are getting slaughtered
Posted on 12/1/23 at 6:17 pm to Phillytiger9
Brian Kelly is not a recruiter and is struggling right now. If House stays then he’s committing career suicide

Going to wait until signing day to melt. Bussey and Reliford are still possibilities. Miller? Who knows.

26 players and half are 3 stars.
Overall average @ 3.5 stars which is not going to win championships.
Let's hope we somehow close strong with several more 4 stars and perhaps another 5 * or so.

Give me Bussey and Reliford. The longer this Miller thing drags on, the more I’m starting to think we go get a portal WR instead.

These star gazer threads are the fricking worst

Star gazers must be under the age of 30

He we go comparing stars again. Let’s see them on the field before we ASSUME

Very strong chance 2025 class will be top 3, possibly number 1 even with the #1 ranked QB, RB, and WR in the class. Saying BK is not a recruiter isn’t really fair.
Defensive recruiting is struggling for sure though and that is more to do with the fact that House is a lame duck coach, went this season without a real DL coach, and high school coach coaching CB. I am optimistic there will be sweeping changes on that side of the ball, just give it a little bit of time.

I feel like we have been saying this almost every other year for over a decade. Then Alabama and Georgia and 3-5 other random schools decide to spend millions on their class and we end up ranked 5th-7th every time.
