Man, I cannot wait until the season starts so we could get owned by these powerhouse programs!!

Yall won't. Coach Crutch may build yall into a dynasty if you guys can recruit some athletes. But coach Crutch is definitely an ignorant piece of shite to be honest. But I am happy for you guys at Aug. I want to send my kids there when I have some and move back to Louisiana.

I know what was stated... And it's pretty Ludicrous actually, but I'm enjoying the convo considering we are still 2 months from Prep/SEC kickoff

Well, according to the article, why wouldn't he want to leave the state. The bullets never stop flying, and people in New Orleans shoot each other just to do it. Disregard that he doesn't actually live in New Orleans, only pay attention to the shitty, skewed journalism.

It's one of the worst hack pieces I've ever read from a recruiting site. How did that guy get a job with 247?

For the record, no one said the kid is talented.

I said that he's not so good that he's going to make such an impact that he'll separate either team from the rest of the field.

Whichever school he goes to, the other school will find another blue chip talent and they'll knock heads.

You dumb.
1) he made it to the dome in 99 with Chico Mackey.
2)He won it in 02 with KP, Josh Mackey, and Terrence Jones.
3) Katrina happened in 05 and he lost his best players to Bastrop including Randall Mackey.
4) He then proceeded to win two more. Crutch can coach.

You dumb, bro. South Plaquemines was a consolidation of Port Sulphur, Buras and Boothville-Venice. While Crutch may have lost a couple players from his Port Sulphur team, he absorbed two whole schools into the program. That is when S. Plaq really started to roll, immediately after Katrina. He put together a couple good runs at a 1A school with superior athletes. We'll see what he can do at 5A.

Fornette is apparently the real deal. Wish him well.
If St Aug beats the world, more power to 'em.
My concern is that with a staff like this, they've not just 'sold out' LSU, but St. Aug itself. Renegade programs have a nototiously short longevity, but sometimes they create a momentary flash of excitement. Then the insitution has to live with the damage. The Holmes' of the world simply move on to the next program...
Apparently some fans of the current regime don't want to talk about the staff....
Don't blame 'em.
Their resumes speak for themselves...

Actually Ace is correct. He's always had pretty good teams.

The schools did consolidate but there wasn't much left down there... a lot of kids moved to Belle Chasse...hence they won a state title with boys from "down the road". Blake Matherne, James Wright, Rocky Duplessis are all from the south end of the parish.

If you give Crutch like 3 or 4 pretty good athletes he would win 1a ha. He's going to be a force at Aug for sure.

I know... You & others have repeated it a few times...

He'll be up for the challenge... Kids will be ready for those tough battles in 4A/5A... No other choice but to be...

Anyway, enough trash talk from me. I actually am sincerely looking forward to how well St. Aug does with Crutch. When he coached at South Plaq I had a buddy coaching at St. Martin's and would always hear about how much more dominant the athletes were at South Plaq compared to other 1A schools.

I hope he turns out to be all that the St. Aug people who post here thinks he is, and I am also cautiously optimistic that he (and Holmes) aren't as anti-LSU as they appear on the surface.

Exactly, they won State and was runner-up before Katrina.

South Plaq was still made up mostly of Port Sulphur kids. And to think he lost the Bastrop 5(ie Randall Mackey, Jody Ancar). And Holmes was the one who got Bastrop in trouble.

South Play did have an easy district, but they played 4/5A schools and held their own for having 20-25 players.

Those players were developed by Crutch. He picked them up, drove them home. He looked out for those kids. POS or not

How do you think his strategy of always going for two and kicking onside is going to work out in 5A?

Setting aside Holmes' ethical issues, it's only fair to consider his record:
He was a head coach for less than one year (Woodlawn/ S'port), having been suspended before the end of the season. His record was 1-8. His team won the final game of the season under an interim coach.
He was charged with misdemeanor battery of a student and left for employment in the state of Texas, where, coincidentally, his star player Shiro Davis had committed to play college ball after committing to LSU.
I suspect most of us hope we're wrong about the staff at St. Aug.
Kinda like picking Sarah Palin for a running mate: High Risk, high reward.
But, it's not a strategy for those who are already winners.

That is a major concern at the moment... I'm sure you know first hand how a lack of kicking game has cost us big time... We lost a very good skill kicker to Karr... How did we let this happen? Tuition... We are currently grooming some kids, but...
