I must say that ESPNU is just spewing some of the worst nonsense I've ever heard. To say that LSU doesn't have talent is crazy. You could maybe argue that we don't get the most out of our talent, but to say we don't have talent is insane.

Ok, how about them talking about the recruiting class (which is the fricking relevant thing to talk about today) instead of bashing the program.

Damn, a lot of self loathing LSU fans on the RECRUITING board today...head back to the rant

The part about Reuben Randle being the 3rd WR This year and getting a ton of playing time.

Besides that, there has been a logjam at certain positions. Would you rather have the #1 WR recruit in 2007 with experience or the a highly touted 4 star whose only competition has been in high school. Gotta earn the right to play.

He isn't talking about recruited talent, he is talking about on field talent, problems developing the talent that comes in. You disagree? Its a fair assessment.

didn't say it wasn't true. I simply quoted McShay to inform those who didn't see what he said. The one thing McShay said that I disagree with was that the LSU talent level has dropped over the last 3-4 years. ESPN's own recruiting rankings show otherwise.

Not true. We have been getting great players, they just arent being coached up.

quote:

Said we don't have elite players on offense anymore.

Incorrect. We have elite players on offense and defense. We just dont have elite lineman and leaders.

quote:

They also said that they spoke to recruits like Hunter and Davis and the recruits said they were VERY concerned that young players were not being played and WRs were not getting the ball.

I can understand and agree with that.

quote:

McShay then said Lafell should've been a first rounder but LSU didn't get him the ball so he'll be a third rounder.

I agree.

quote:

Then they also said coaching aspect is the problem

I agree BIG TIME.

So those of you supporting ESPN, do you think they give LSU fair coverage or the respect we've earned with 2 BCS titles?

what a fig McShay is. Hunter had a problem with our track coach and Davis was just waiting for Texas to offer.

and I'm sure a 3 star (LaFell) scoring more TD's than any other SEC receiver in the last 2 years and at the worst being a 3rd round pick in the NFL was a big problem for receivers looking at LSU.

Idiots.

I don't support what McShay said or how many of their commentators bash LSU and Miles every chance they get. I believe we get fair coverage, but no respect for winning our 2 BCS titles. In their mind Saban won the first one, not LSU. And Miles got lucky in 07 and will never lead us back to the top.

How great is talent when they dont see the field? How great is talent when you cant coach them? He is judging the talent we had on the field and it wasnt that great.

He had to be speaking about our O-Line & O-line coach. Best O-Line talent ended up backups under Stud. There will be major shakeup on O-Line in spring practice. Stud knows his job is on the line and he won't be playing favorites next year.

No one should be surprised? They always hate on LSU and the Saints. It's a subconscious feeling of superiority to the south. Kinda like racist people who don't think they're racist.

Yes, because of Drake Nevis, Chad Jones, Patrick Peterson, Charles Scott, Ciron Black, Kelvin Sheppard, etc.

Come on rantards... Can you honestly say you disagree with that? LSU can't coach up players, they don't play talented freshman, they can't get the ball to play makers, what is your problem??? This seems like an accurate assessment for ESPN

What did McShay say that was wrong. Seems pretty on point to me.

Also, Lafells dropped passes werent nearly as big of a problem this year as they were in the past. Someone said hed have 20 more catches if he caught 75% of the balls he dropped? Did you do the math, that means he dropped at least 26 passes this year...WTF

Yo A1, welcome to the board.
