my only 'worry', insofar as it is worrisome to me personally, is that Emery's story has changed. Allowing for some of this is unconfirmed, we've heard:
- wants to go OOS
then
- wants to be the one and only feature back
then
- wants to be on a dominant team
now
- doesn't like UGA's depth chart

Kind of hard to hit his 'pain points' in selling him on LSU when they change with... well... I don't what they are changing in relation to. They just change.

Let me cliffs notes it down for you...

He wants to be the bell cow RB on a contender.

The good thing is, his home state school fits that bill.

Commit to bringing your home state a championship or at least try for one. One where your family and friends can watch in the stands without added expenses. Not like you don't have a top college right down the street from Destrehan. Head to LSU young man.

Man.. I just watched some of his highlights, and he’s special. He doesn’t remind me of anyone either.. but damn.. he has it all.

I just hope the coaches know what they're doing these last few months between him and Cain. Would hate to lose out on both.

I like Cain as a rotation back, but if we lose him it’s not a difference maker. Emery and Davis are difference makers - especially Emery.

Didn’t give me any impression that he’s committing to LSU.

He did finally understand that he’s likely going to be buried in the depth chart for at least a few years if he goes to UGA.

Rumor he has a kid on the way.

Damn, I hope this isn't the case. I want him to come to LSU, but being that young with a kid will be very hard on him especially if he and the mother aren't together in a relationship anymore. Typically, the younger the girl is, the more risk of "baby momma drama" there will be. For his sake, I pray this rumor isn't true.

he states he didn’t see himself in UGA RB rotation with the # of 5-star RBs in front of him

not sure how to take this. I'd like to see a kid be more willing to compete and be more confident in himself, but I also want him in P&G.

I doubt he doesn't have confidence in himself but with a roster like that an injury or coaches simply favoring someone else he could end up buried on the depth chart.

These kids only have 4 years to play and maximize their potential and you only do that by getting playing time. A kid going to a school to hopefully maximize his playing time is not a sign of being afraid to compete.

I've seen UGA fans still not get this. They say the depth chart didnt change from the day he committed to today, and that's true.

What did change is the obviously impressionable kid that is John Emery Jr. (and likely his dad) wore off. We're talking about a kid who went from going to commit to MSU, to LSU to UGA in a matter of weeks, to now decommitting from UGA and not even considering them anymore. OF course the depth chart hasn't changed, but what did change was Emery's realization of the stockpile of players they have there, and he CLEARLY wants to be 3 and done (he constantly states "my 3 years in school"). He wants to showcase his talent and after his visit high to UGFA wore off he saw them for what they are - a very hard path to show your stuff early on.

Our leading rusher is graduating and we only play 1 other RB right now. It's clear our situation is much more attractive than theirs, and once that visit high commitment wore off, this is what we end up with. He made an emotional decision early on, now he is using more logic, bottom line.

They lost to LSU, one and only reason.
