Y’all need to listen to the Kelvin Sheppard interview on Hester’s show. He said Bo is not the type of guy to come in and tell the players this is my scheme and this is what we’re running. He’ll set them up perfectly to succeed with their strengths. He said he expects some 4-3/3-4 under which is still exactly like a 4-3 only disguised. Whatever players we have Bo will make it work and look good.

I am 61 and have been watching LSU for 40+ yrs... How about you junior? Everybody assumes we are going to a 4-3 because Pellini is coming back and that is what he ran 12 yrs ago. I ask this in a previous thread - who in the top echelon of CFB is running a 4-3? Got no responses.

Might as well go back to the Battleship scheme to defend the Cruise Missile offenses.

Was he heavily recruited by Auburn? Bama didn’t want him.

He’s the perfect 4-3 WDE

Take it for what it’s worth, but I just heard he committed to us during his in home. Not sure when he’s gonna go public. Vol will probably be able to tell a little more

Yes. Some folks apparently don't understand that a third of the state actually despises the Crimson Tide since they are Aubies; that is about the breakdown 2/3 Tide, 1/3 Aubie if you consider the state as a whole. Then there are folks on the Gulf coast part of Alabama who may favor LSU. And there are basically a few folks every where who will be the local contrarian and pull for any program that is not local.

Just to get this out in the open from the get go. I'm a little older than you. With all the schools that run spread, RPO, tempo or no huddle very few teams run a true 4-3 or 3-4 most run some kind of nickel package, whether it's a 3-3 or 4-2 front.

To answer your question:
The top 2 defenses in college football last year (Ohio St, & Utah)plus the team that did the best at shutting us down all run the 4-3.

We have gotten kids out of bama, but I can’t remember a single kid that we pulled from bama that they really wanted. We got Kwon, but that’s mostly because bama pulled his offer due to injury if my memory serves me correctly. Not saying it can’t be done or won’t be done. It just hasn’t been done yet, and until it is, I wouldn’t get my hopes up too much for a 5* kid from Alabama.

Saban wasn’t there yet. I guess I should have said, we never pulled a kid from bama that Saban really wanted.

I remember watching Robert Davis from Homewood Alabama sign with LSU on TV. He was Mr Football in Alabama in 1991 and all the gumps went nuts. It was a glorious day if you were an LSU fan living in gump land at that time.

Factually, incorrect. But ok.

Taylor had a Bama offer
Flott had a Bama offer
Little had a Bama offer
Farrell had a Bama offer
Thomas had a Bama offer
Alexander had a Bama offer
etc etc etc
