I see people are attacking me for starting this thread...I'm not sorry.
Anyway, I said that Miami is going nowhere because their current program is not where near running the table and the ACC isn't strong enough to put a 1 or 2 loss team in the title game over a 1 or 2 loss team from a better conference (and there are plenty of those each year).

This is the short-cutting, Instant Gratification Generation- winning would be a nice caveat on their way to starting as a true freshman and first round lock status as a Junior; other than that, nothing else matters.

we can't even stay within 2 games of the SEC West anymore

Can't blame guys for wanting to go to Bama, UF, Texas, etc...our play on the field is what's hurting us. Coaching must improve and that's no secret.

They WERE somewhere. No one is arguing that.

Close is subjective, but I'd say YES - we lost all 4 games last year by a combined 23 points. Either way, we can have 1 or even 2 losses, win the SEC Championship Game, and we'd be in a decent position (depending on other team's records and rankings and all that) of going back to the BSC Title Game.
Bottom line: LSU has won (2) National Titles in this decade, they're done so with 2 different coaches, and they got to the big game in 2007 with 2 losses on their record.
We win.

Are you talking about Miami or LSU here? How can an LSU fan bag on the state of anyone's program after the past 2 seasons in Baton Rouge?

I wasn't blaming kids for choosing Bama, UF, or TX...I was blaming them for choosing Miami, Clemson, A&M, and Tech.

Because the season is over? In 2010? In the next two years? That is kind of vague because I think with things as tight as they are in the SEC, I could see LSU atleast in the hunt for a MNC in the next two years.

We can do this, because we're a scary football team. We're loaded with talent and depth, and we're VERY close to putting it all together (either 2010 or 2011). We were young last year at key positions and still had a strong season (compared to other schools). We were in a position to win EVERY game that we played last year during those games - the eventual national champion only beat us by 9 points and did so due to us suffering injuries to key players at key times and to us having a blatant fraudulent call go against us when it mattered most for us to get the right call.
We are in an exceptional position as a program right now, and programs like Miami, Clemson, A&M, and Texas Tech aren't even in the same league.
$89 million!

Miami puts defensive players in the NFL like crazy. Clemson is close to home for Parker. A&M has been with Fobbs since the beginning (but never say never with him). Boone committed to Leach who is badass offensive guy (I think we steal him though).

If you think LSU is going to be in the hunt for the MNC next year, is not thinking clearly. We cant call timeouts.

This is EXACTLY what Miami fans sounded like around 2003-04. "We won in 01 and would've won in 02 if not for the refs. We have the most talent in the nation, just look at how many 1st rounders we've put into the NFL."
Sorry, but Miles = Coker and the slide is almost identical.

Two years removed from an MNC? Two years is forever, I guess. You probably were saying the same thing in 2004 and after Saban left.

I started this thread in support of prospects choosing a school where they can win - I'm obviously indicating that I think that winning is most important.
Miami isn't winning, and LSU puts a ton of players into the NFL as well. Parker, like I said, was willing to leave SC for an out-of-state school and is most likely merely choosing Clemson for personal reasons (he likes Clemson) - if he wanted to stay home and win, he'd pick the SEC school within his state. I think we have a good shot with Fobbs, as well. Again, if Boone chooses TT for their offense, then I think he'd be a fool for not caring about winning.
