OU still the favorite. Coaches will be at the ceremony
Another team who could lose their head coach, by the end of year one in the SEC lol. Texas, OU, and A&M all have huge question marks in terms of their head coach.

Yeah, all the recruiting guys are saying this makes no sense
This whole time he said, it’s all about proximity to home and academics because he wants to be an engineer.
LSU, A&M, and Texas run circles around OU in that department and proximity.
Which then makes you think it’s about the money, which again no way UT and A&M would lose a recruit to OU over money.

Doesn't even sound like there's anything to fix, with this recruit at least. The staff don't seem to be that high on him if he's all (or mainly) about the money.
Kelly doesn't appear to want too many paid mercenaries on the team right now, which is a good thing. Never hurts to have a few of those guys on your team when you've established a clear cohesive foundation for your team, but Kelly is still working on getting that foundation built and culture changed because of the mess O left him. I think we see a small uptick in guys who are "pay to play" when we get that foundation in place but for the next couple of recruiting cycles I bet we continue to see this trend of avoiding bidding wars for the hired guns that have no love for any school in particular.

There's something to be learned from all of your losses.
Sounds like sour grapes to say we didn't want him after losing him.
You know it is what it is with recruiting. Some guys pan out snd some guys don't.
Here's the cold hard truth though
If you win on the field snd lose on the trail- recruiting doesn't really matter all that much. If Kelly is producing snd we're in the playoff hunt every year then it's all good but that only last for so long, you need real hardware or people will say those recruiting battles you lost were why you didn't win the hardware.
If you lose on the field and lose on the trail then you likely lose your job.
Just win, with transfers or whatever just win. If we don't win snd these Louisiana kids show out then these battles will come back to cost people their jobs. It's a results based industry.
Losing Simmons then Mckliney sucks, but lose to FSU and it's gonna suck a lot more.
Lost a couple of big battles on the trail, win on the field and it doesn't matter.

I didn't say we didn't want him. I said it doesn't seem like the staff is going all in on guys who are going to the highest bidder. It's more about building a solid foundation of guys who really bleed p&g first. Maybe it wasn't clear but that's what I was trying to say.

I agree with everything else you said though.

I hope we send a coach or two to the commitment and tell him whenever he's ready to transfer just let us know.
Hope they do that right in front of the Oklahoma coaches just for shits n giggles.
