Does Melvin Jones stay at MLB or move to DE possibly?

Sure would be nice to have a big run stuffing MLB. At 6'3" 246 he will probably get even bigger once Moffit gets him. So is he projected to be MLB and how soon do you think he is playing?

I'd be shocked if he was able to stay at LB. I think he showed up to an LSU camp this summer around 260 lbs.

I think I'm in the minority on this one, but I still see him becoming the next Chuck Wiley.

One of the LB's will move to FB, my guess is on Lamar Louis or Melvin Jones

Lamar Louis was a pretty good RB as well as LB but I don't think he moves. He doesn't seem to have that true LSU blocking fullback size.

Wow! Didn't Bama play with a 260lb MLB in 2011

yeah but they also run a 3-4 and prefer their LB's to look like DE's

Yea, I hope he can stay there. I do like the idea of being extremely fast with OLB's but have a really big guy to plug the middle and make it really tough to get any yards there. But that's just my opinion. Not an authority.

I agree with the speed of debo and kwon on the outside, having a big mlb plugging up the box would be perfect

I would run the crap out of him and get him on a nutrition plan and keep him at MLB. We need a force in the middle and if Jones can still move with his weight then he would be a star in the middle like Minter. I see him playing at around 245-250 lbs.

I hope he stays. We need some beef in the middle to complement the speed on the outside. Plus Chief loves him some beefy MLBs (see Baker and Minter). I could see Barrow moving inside next year with Kwon and Bones on the outside.

I'd be suprised if he ever plays a down at LSU, his grades are supposedly an issue

I think he will stay at MLB but you never know. He is very athletic for his size and could maybe be a fullback/H-back type player if Linebacker doesn't workout.
