I am started to get worried. Thank God for the transfer portal.

2024 needs to be a top 3 class

Nope. We don't really have room to grow and the teams behind us do.

While this is true, we don't have the huge deficit we did last year. WE NEED STOP FILLINGS HOLES WITH QUANTITY AND START FILLING THEM WITH QUALITY. We are losing recruits just as we get new ones. I broke it down last night in a thread that been deleted.

Of the teams in front of us only UGA (1st) and OU (7th) have more recruits than us at 26 and 25 recruits. This is last night before todays decommit.

Teams 11-20.... PSU and UM have 25 commits, Miami has 23 and 10RC has 20, The rest are in the teens on commits and all have a higher average ranking except for Arkansas.

Speaking of average ranking, this will go down due to Ondre Evans decommit, he was a 93. We are in the bottom half of the SEC in average recruit rank prior to Evans decommit.

Brian Kelly leaves alot to be desired. Recruits see that too. When they flip their commit and say its because they know they will be developed, that says a lot and is very damning.

Correct and Texas (18), Auburn (16), and SC (16) could easily push us to 10th as they are all in with in 22 points with far fewer commits.

6-10 is pretty close so depends on who they close out with but steeples & cooks are getting bullied on the trail, Kelly has to make a move in the off-season

Lol you could post this a day after the cycle ends with us ranked 11th and this board would still call you a dumbass and a pussy for thinking there's any chance we don't finish top 10.

Finishing outside of the top 10 is unacceptable at LSU

For context, for 2024 LSU is currently:

- #12 on 247
- #11 on On3
- #12 on Rivals

If we land the A&M trio (Miller, Bussey, Reliford) and hang on to Bates we should finish top 8.

If we land just Miller and hang on to Bates, and add a few lower ranked players, we should hopefully finish in the top 10.

If we lose Bates and miss out on the A&M trio, we won't finish in the top 12.

Is there really a chance of this happening?

Do you think there is a substantial difference between 6-12?

I don't, and I'm a firm believer in the recruiting rankings in general and I've been following it for 35 years. They just are not made to dial it in to that level of accuracy.

The top 1-3 classes generally stand out, but beyond that there are groups like 4-10 or maybe 6-12 that are not drastically different. Filling needs, development, attrition, etc., become important after that.

I'm going to hold off on grabbing my pitchfork until this happens.

I think somewhere in between these two is most likely.
