DL Coach news? Reliford dropping hints?

In his interview with Preston, Reliford kept saying how important his relationship with his position coach is because he wants to be developed for the next level. We currently don't have a DL coach. I know Jimmy Lindsey has been around, but he has been in an admin role. If he is "down to LSU and USC", has he been told something about a DL coach change that we haven't? Is Jimmy coming back? Anyone hearing anything? Something has to change because we have to develop him, Maason, Swinson, Wiggins, Womack, etc. We have too much DL talent to look so bad last year.
I really feel good about him being a Tiger this Friday, and was even more optimistic that he was openly recruiting McKinley and Bussey. If he is a Tiger, I don't see McKinley coming, but I think he could help pull Bussey, which would be HUGE!

Option A:
Maybe our Dline coach is still coaching in the NFL and that’s why you haven’t heard anything.
Option B: The winningest active head coach in history with only two losing seasons in three decades is sitting around and totally doesn’t realize he needs to figure out this defensive situation. He saw your post and remembered. He cut his 18 holes short and called jimmy sexton.

quote:Yes, it's hilarious some posters saying, "BK needs to do something quickly about the DL coaching position. This is unacceptable. What is he thinking?" Like he's oblivious..
Something has to change because we have to develop him

You know as much as everyone else. When there is breaking news, it will be reported here just read the threads.

We will need a DL coach. Lindsay will be in an admin role.

No way Lindsey will be the DL coach next year. In that same interview when asked about his relationship with Lindsey he flatly said "we talk here and there...we uh, we have a pretty good relationship"... He has to know that we're going a different direction, probably already knows who the coach will be, otherwise we wouldn't be seriously considered

Everyone dances around Lindsey situation. Can we get a straight answer? Did he have a stroke?

Exactly my point. That is why I asked the question. I was curious if anyone in the actual know had any knowledge because it sounds like they have told him about someone being the DL next year, enough to give him comfort to seriously consider LSU. I am curious who it is. I appreciate all the smartasses in here, but serious inquiring minds want to know. As was pointed out earlier, I am thinking it could be someone with NFL connections.

NFL, Or on a college team still playing.

I'm just giving you a hard time Rizer.
I have asked before, and no one really knows what Lindseys health issues are, had to be serious...cancer, heart?? Trust me, I want to know just as much as you.
“Jimmy is continuing to make progress. He is in treatment right now,” Kelly said. “He’s about halfway through his treatments, and all reports are really positive in his treatment process.”
-last statement by Kelly in Sept.

They said awhile back he has cancer and getting chemo.

Cancer treatments are brutal. My father-in-law just successfully went through them to overcome lung cancer this past summer. He has been doing well until about 2 weeks ago, when he couldn't have a bowel movement. Come to find out, he has a large cancerous mass in his colon along with rectal cancer. Poor guy is 75 and has to go back through treatment to try and shrink the mass to see if they can remove it. Cancer is no joke!

We have a coaching changes board dedicated to just this. There would be 10 threads on there if anybody knew. Hell, there’s probably a few on there now when nobody knows shite.

Of course they’ve told him something. You can’t flip a guy who’s been committed out of state for so long without giving him some indication of who the coach he’ll be spending almost every day of the next 3-4 years of his life will be. They may have a done deal and let him actually talk to the guy, or told him it would be 1 of 2 or 3 gouts that he either knows personally or by reputation (putting guys into the NFL), or maybe Frank is just that good and says “just trust me” and he does. But there’s 0% chance they’re just shrugging their shoulders saying “I don’t know. We’ll see” and he’s seriously considering us. Probably making him feel special by giving him some inside scoop and telling not to tell anybody.

Me too

but serious inquiring minds want to know.
Oh, I didn’t know you were a serious inquiring mind. I’m just a plain old inquiring mind. You definitely deserve to know now.

EVERYBODY wants to know. We’ll find out when Kelly wants us to find out. I’d think this guy’s de-commitment and consideration of us points to good news eventually, though.

Maybe. I don’t think an NFL position coach would need to wait till the end of the season to be announced, though. House coached through the playoffs for the Chiefs, I’m pretty sure, but he was announced before the end of their season. It could be a college guy whose team is in the playoffs. Or the portal and early signing day has fricked up the timing of the announcement of most coaching hires.
Just think of this shite like Christmas. Sure, it’d be awesome to open your presents on December 5th. In December 5th. Then you’d be bored as frick for the next 20 days. Just relax and enjoy the ride. We’ll find out when Santa decides to come down the chimney.

No it isn’t easy- I went though it for 15 years. It came back 5 times. I have been doing well for year. I’ll definitely put your father in law in my prayers. Pray that it gets better
