No more playing around. Go steal some tip coaches and recruiters from schools like Oregon, a&m(robinson), and Georgia.

Not saying it's impossible to do this, especially when you consider what we're paying house (which is criminal based on the defense), but I don't think it's going to be that easy. Most top tier coaches at top programs aren't going to jump ship for the exact same role somewhere else at a similar salary. Maybe we pay a little more but I am not sure how many coaches that would sway away from places like Georgia or Oregon.

UGA DC already makes like $1.9MM and is at a championship program. Oregons is making $1.7MM. House makes $1.8MM by comparison. If jimbo is fired maybe we can get Durkin and/or Robinson from there. Not sure who else is out there that's a proven recruiter and coach who is being drastically under paid.

People keep acting like it's no big deal to just fire a coach who is having health issues and expect some top tier coach to come flocking to lsu and leave their current team right before the start of the season. That's the issue with this theory fans keep throwing around.

Fire?? No one has said to fire him? I wouldn't want that, but you can always find, and pay, someone to come coach at LSU for the season as a stand in. Poach a coach at a smaller school, at a lesser level, an analyst, an NFL analyst, ex NFL-er like Andre Carter who isn't coaching anywhere... Like you said

The reality is coaching circles are small and close.

So there are people who can be reached, like what Woody had to do with grandpa pete. There is actually no excuse to not find anyone who is at least somewhat of an expert at the DL. We're paying how many million a year for the staff? Whats another 500k -> mil? Nothing

Yes a lot of people on here said that.

It would have to be as an analyst, like Pete, which is what was done. It was just done too late. I was saying you're not hiring a new defensive line coach that close to the beginning of the season because we already had one under contract and no more spots for on field coaches. The only way to do that is to fire or move lindsey which was just not a realistic solution for the reasons I stated.

Lsu needs to go out and spend some money on upgrading this staff on defense.

Agree-$2 millon a year for the current DC wont cut it.

If people on here said that imagine if we did...

The situation was handled poorly. You may think it's not realistic, I think moving personnel around is. Doesn't matter what either of us think as Kelly clearly thought we would be good to go with whoever on staff was coaching them up in his place.

I'm just ready to never have to see House representing LSU again, and hopefully we fire some of the other clown position coaches.

I think we both agree it wasn't handled quickly enough but I am not sure what you're saying with the above quote. What do you mean when you say moving personnel around? We had the max number of on field coaches and you agreed the right move wasn't to fire Lindsey. They can't legally force him into an off field role because of his contract unless he agreed. What else was there to do except hire an analyst to come in and help, which they did but not soon enough. Genuinely curious, not trying to be a dick about it. Maybe there's an angle I haven't considered.

Do you really think offensive recruiting is an issue? Defense isn’t getting fixed until we get a new staff on that side of the ball. That should be pretty obvious by now.

He doesn’t have a fukn clue either. Some folks just like bitching & blaming, especially tRant-ers.

Most people understand that given the situation he was in, CBK did just about all he could in respect to personnel hiring/firing/moving. There just wasn’t any good options available to him due to the awful timing of Lindsay’s illness. Sometimes shite happens & Theres nothing you can do to avoid it you just have to ride it out until you can actually fix the issue in the offseason.
