Probably that offer from UTSA was just too hard to turn down. I mean the kid is rated as the #28 Pro Style QB n his class.

He probably was "encouraged" to seek scholarships elsewhere.

I mean really, he may or may not end up at LSU... What kid can make an informed decision at 14 these early commitments are just laughable

My wife is related to the Detmer family. I can try to find out what happened, but I only see them 2 or 3 times a year and we are done with the holidays.
I know his aunt was talking to me about him going to LSU at Christmas, so it's a surprise to all of them.

Was this a mutual thing, or did the kid just want to look around? Haven't heard his name on here in a very long time.

I'll be honest with you, fair or unfair, when I imagine future great LSU teams that will go down in the annals of LSU lore, they aren't lead by a guy named "Dinkleman"

Manning, Montana, Brady, Starr, Marino, Rogers, Brees, Staubach.... Dinkleman?

The old staff had no plans of honoring this kids commitment. He has been ignored and soft played by both staffs. He has not developed into much of a QB.

Kid has not picked up an offer since 6/2015. Total offers LSU, Texas, UTSA. Not a serious target on anyone's board.

Dinkleman must have thought he could not beat out Brennan, Narcisse or Scott.

He plays against weak competition

What the hell are you talking about? 4A football in Texas produced the No. 9 recruit in the country this year (Baron Browning) and has produced a ton of others as well.

Somerset is 4A and they lost to reigning state champions Waco La Vega this past year in the third round 36-20, a school that has six kids going D1, including a few to Baylor and one committed to Alabama.

I haven't seen Dinkleman play in person w/ pads so I'm not saying we're missing out on him, but you clearly don't know anything about the caliber of competition he's playing against. He isn't Terrelle Pryor back in high school.
