Pettaway was in the 80's. Had a few classes with him. Nice, but the football thing, not so good.

LSU fricking sucked bc dinardo refused to recruit New Orleans hard

Dinardo was the guy who started the recruiting turnaround.

Folsom, I got into recruiting in '94. I got REALLY into it. Forrest Davis and Jeff Whittaker became my stroke mags. I was fap before fap was cool.

Faulk was our robert nkimideche... As in, we didn't realize we were capable of getting such a highly touted recruit.

No, we recruiting NOTHING close to this in the 90's.

Impressive recall

Toomer was probably the best of the bunch. God, Hallman was awful. So was cheap-arse Joe Dean,

Warrick Dunn was a big miss. Kevin Franklin we ended up with. He was supposed to be better but ended up at Southern I believe. Jamie Spencer at Ouachita was a another miss. Although he did nothing at Notre Dame, he was so impressive in high school. Dinardo did recruit better than anyone previous.... Coaching staff was his downfall.

Curley Hallman set us back a good bit. He was coach from 91-94. I know Ivory Hillard and played against him in high school. I just remember him coming home and saying that as soon as coach Hallman got there he made a rule that no players could wear earrings. Didn't even matter if they weren't on campus he didn't allow them to wear earrings at all. Ivory told me a lot of the players hated it and it sort of set the tone for how it was going to be. The type of coach that there was no compromising with.

We started down the wrong path w Mike Archer. Recruiting wasn't his thing.

Van Hiles went to Kentucky, too. Vandy was Jimmy's best offer, for some reason. LSU missed here.

No. Most of the top players were fleeing for elite programs like FSU, Miami, etc.

Dinardo landing Faulk is really what got LSU trending in the right direction recruiting wise. Saban built upon that to turn us into a recruiting juggernaut.

Some definite studs got away. Some were never ours (Mannings). Some didn't pan out. A few big names I can remember- we lost Ernie Badeaux to Florida and "settled for" Anthony McFarland. Badeaux didn't do shite and McFarland went #15 in the draft. Josh Booty was a bust. 91 saw us sign the best 3 rb's "ever", only to see none really reach potential. Robert Davis from Al, Robert Toomer from Ga, Artie Moore from Ms. Eric Jefferson DE from Evangel went to Illinois and then to Prison. Other big missed names off the top of my head- Cole Pittman, Talman Gardner, Jamie Spencer, Anthony Thomas, Robert Hammond, Thomas Pittman, Demetric Evans, Terrell Bierra, Robert Peace, Johnathan Wade, Ike Hilliard, Shannon Brown, Anthony Lucas, Travis minor, johnathan wells, Kordell Stewart, Roydell Williams, Bennie Gilbeaux, Arnaz Battle. I know you guys know more.

Tennessee did well with Louisiana kids in the 90s. Leonard Scott from Zachary, and Corey Gaines from Catholic(BR) were a couple that received plenty of playing time for them.
