Its one thing to say that directly to the kid or his parents, but its another to do it in public. Makes Miles look like an a-hole.

Can honestly say that this is the first thing les has ever done that I completely disagree with. We never complain when a kid comes to us late when we think he's going somewhere else. You will gain some recruits and lose some recruits like this most years it's not that big of a deal. But slamming an 18 yr old kid who is trying to make the biggest decision in his life up to that point is pointless and really looks stupid on les part. I hope you don't let this happen again les cause I for one truly like you as a person and a coach

LSU fans are so upset about this, Les being coach should not have said it. Was uncalled for and unprofessional, coaches can use that to recruit against LSU.
For people saying these kids should "honor" their commitments, do you feel same when a kid switches to LSU? That they should have "honored" their commitment. To previous school?
The kid made a choice in both cases and LSU should have had a back up plan. Does it suck? Yes but no reason bash a kid for making a choice that impacts next 4 years of his life. As a coach Miles should not have taken that subtle swipe either, one of few times he has shown a lack of character.

The outrage to this is hilarious considering what Saban did to that kid who was left with the Alabama hat on the table because Saban gave his spot away on NSD. Saban crunches numbers like this every year but he is celebrated even by lsu "fans".
But everyone is up and arms over a silly chest comment at a bash with fans.
Seems like miles haters will latch on to anything just to bash and shite on the lsu coaches and team.

Saban has never openly criticized a recruit for choosing another school as far as I know. He has dropped recruits for players that he believed were better an has not honored scholarships.
However, this incident I on all recruiting service sites and else where and looks bad for Miles and the program. This time Miles should have gone with coach speak.
Oh and I am not a Miles "basher" by any means. Him doing this actually shocked me as it was out of character for him.

I dont think you are bashed by any stretch of the definition an wasn't talking to you specifically. My bad.
I agree that he shouldn't have said it. But I also feel that this was taken a little overboard and just sounds like miles talking up his guy that actually signed.
I understand the gripe and why people are offended. But also feel that people get bent out of shape and are little too sensitive.

Kiel did all his flip flopping in public, except the part where he didn't show up to LSU, he seemed fine to let that fly under the radar. Les has every right to drag this trash back out into the light where he belongs.

Dumbass comment from Coach Jethro.
I think Chavis is making him look good.

That kid blantantly lied to Les, made Les lose another kid, both of which really make Les's job more difficult...Les could say whatever he wants about the situation as long as he isn't lying IMO

Les coming out and saying this I think impacts recruiting and not in a positive way. As I said coaches will use this against him, ESPN and CNN/Si running stories on it plus all recruiting sites it does hurt LSU. More than what any poster says about some kid via this board

Stupid ICrapad ate my comment, anyway... TDuece, i think it helps recruiting in two ways. It let's this year's guys know that Les appreciates their testicular fortitude, or heart rather. Also, he is telling future recruits that if you are the wishy-washy on your promises, the Tigers don't want you on their damn strong football team. That'll stop the staff from wasting time on players like kiel in the future, I would suppose, and let them focus on young men who actually want to play for the Tigers.

Disagree. Being lied to is just as bad as stealing in my book. I think out of frustration and jubilation of signing liggins was the reason for his statements. If you watch liggins film closely yu will see an awful bunch of talent at the qb position. Whether he outgrows the position only time will tell. I think it is about time we do something about these kids making last second switches and use the mack brown philosophy. I think it helps if anything.

Again, coaches "lie" "stretch truth" etc.... Saying they are recruiting a certain player and he only recruit yet recruiting others as well. The kid made a decision that impacts his next 4 years.
LSU fans can get pissed yet they are excited when a recruit spurns another school for them. PP should have stayed at Miami as he originally committed to them, RP to Texas, and list can go on honestly.
Double edged sword and works both ways no reason to get butt hurt about it and whine/cry. Les as a coach did not need to go that low and should have taken the high road.

Stop comparing Miles to Saban.
They aren't the same.
If Saban is the measure you use to compare coaches then maybe you should start pulling for Bama.
Most that complain about Miles here are people that signed up from 2004-2006, or within the last 6 months (alters)
Almost as if you are owed something.
Take your Elitist attitudes and stick them in your asses.
Coach Miles doesn't care about you are your stupidity and neither do most on this board.

Read it helps, the previous poster brought up comparison and I went with it. Also would you like to link where he openly criticized or made jabs at a recruit for not picking his school?
If I was you Cadello, I would really try reading some post before jumping in to assume and criticize. It helps make you not look like a dumbass

I personally don't believe he was scared of anything other than a miserable offensive game plan. Miles picked one hell of a platform to show his lack of preparation for a very important game. Top QB's & WR's will not sign with Miles if they continue to see crap like that.
