The defensive line coach came from Ruston and doesn’t seem to care that he is going to Texas either, quit crying. The Burns kid film is him literally letting receivers catch balls in front of him and then trying to lay them out. That’s not a skill set that works anymore and apparently the entire SEC agreed so far.

You cite the hs teams record, zero college coaches care about that. They didn’t care when guys like Morris Claiborne, Tre White or Devery Henderson played for arse HS teams. They cared about how they moved and then they moved them to other positions, it’s not even uncommon.

His name is Kyle Williams. What makes you think he doesn’t care that he is going to Texas?

And if any of those were commitable he wouldn’t be going to UNC.

Burns looks a lot like Hootie & former John ehret safety Kaine Williams that Bama took.

Great at coming downhill, biggest baddest players on their HS defense. Cant let this trick your eyes. We can call it Tacky Curtis syndrome if you will.

Can they cover the back half of the field vs SEC WR? Can they tackle elite athletes up in space in SEC games? Not that he can’t do it, but Evans has no semblance of this on tape. Has two INTs on his Jr tape where the ball is thrown right to him.

The safety position has been re-defined. You need range and hips and athleticism while still being able to be physical

The problem is you're assuming LSU thinks this guy is nothing but depth. Maybe they see him as a high end talent that's a gem.

You're also ripping them for not grabbing talent that you assume and speculate is better than this guy. I don't need to list the countless recruits that barely had offers in Louisiana, no camp invites, etc. that just turned into NFL players. I doubt you have better resources scouting players than LSU does.

I'm all for LSU looking to snag players falling through cracks in Louisiana. I in fact think LSU needs to put more resources into scouting here. I would say it's actually how you stay on top in NIL era since LSU doesn't have the money similar to schools like Oregon. Sure, we can be competitive when we need to but if you want consistency, LSU is not going to be able to maintain consistency you need this type of heavy scouting. LSU doesn't have billionaires writing checks for them in NIL and are at a market disadvantage in Louisiana.

Been LSU's biggest problem past few decades. Few schools can you name with the absolute highs of highs in success but they struggle to maintain the success year after year for consistency. We always have lull periods with average then hit it big with a NC.

I think you nailed the comparisons 100% as it currently stands. Idk why he thinks comparing him to Hootie is a good thing, when he wasn’t an SEC talent either. Burns may can do those things, but it wasn’t on his highlight film. I hope he does great things and maybe earns an offer from LSU.

However, this thread was about a kid that earned the first LSU offer since his school consolidated and has a chance to be the first Tiger from Winnsboro since Booger. It made no sense for someone to tear down the Ellis kid bc he got an offer and the Burns kid hasn’t yet.

Don't talk about my high school, Coach Calhoun did an amazing job bringing in talent annually.

And they went 3-6 and 4-7 his last two years. The point still stands.

The kid is from a terrible Winnsboro team and didn’t have another SEC offer. Pump the brakes.

They were in the playoffs last year and have three players that are D1 level this year. You pump the brakes.

“My high”? speak English please. The topic is Dez Ellis from Winnsboro, try and stay on topic and not be so fragile. Sorry your high school doesn’t exist anymore and wasn’t good at football while you attended.

I’m not going to get into bashing kids, but you do realize one of the greatest, if not the greatest defensive coaches ever is now the HC of UNC right? I’m not saying he will even be there 4 years, but it’s not laughable that a kid would want to play for Belichic.

As far as Ellis, super athlete. Best player in the field in every game he played last year and that includes when he single handedly beat Calvary and their SEC talent.
