Shea Dixon stated his recruitment has to do with NIL. Here comes the Tigers!

I am told this decision came down purely to the NIL offer.
Not that excited to have players like this on the team.

Were you excited about the roster the last two years that had holes everywhere when we weren’t paying? You either pay to play or get your arse run over by everyone that is.

How’d that work out for A&M, among others?

Are you really using A&M as your example? They screw up everything they touch. What about Ohio State, Oregon, Texas, Georgia, and Michigan? You think they’ve been good recently by not paying a lot for players?

I simply remarked that players strictly motivated by NIL aren't ideal to have on your roster. Let's not pretend like the programs you rattled off were choc-full of those types of players. Oregon and Texas are the most valid for your argument and they haven't won shite. Ohio State has recruited at an elite level for all of history. Michigan won their title with the 14th ranked roster in the country according to 247, and Kirby Smart recruited like Saban the second he stepped foot on Georgia's campus and won 2 out of 3 titles with a roster built before NIL.

You prefer players that want to be in your program for the right reasons. That's all. Not that crazy of a thing to say.

Bro, those days are gone. You can think pie in the sky and hope players are motivated by more than money all you want. The truth is, if you aren’t paying the premium for an elite roster, you will be left behind. Most kids aren’t going to take a discount to sign with you. Every team I mentioned is paying the premium, as are many more. I don’t necessarily like it either, but you either adapt or you die.

I agree with the premise of your argument but using OSU and last year as an example of doing things differently is a misstep. It's universally known(i thought) that they had the highest paid roster in college football last season. Literally a team full.of mercenaries. That group won the national title. Caleb Downs and the qb were paid handsomely out of the portal.
And those highly rated classes have always come with a little help from cash. Tressell and tattoo-gate, which involved Terrelle Pryor who everyone knows got paid a lot to go there out of HS. Then you had Urban Meyer who everyone knows does things the godly way. He gets visions in his dreams remember? You really think they just stopped buying players?

PP7 is a legend around these parts. Its documented in NCAA documents that he got paid. Thank goodness for Chip Kelly and Oregon taking the brunt of that punishment. Willie Lyles and Ron Cooper facilitated that deal. I'd rather be a have than a have not. Doesn't guarantee titles but it helps the efforts.

As for the Philly/Lester beef, I can't say Philly is a fraud. That said, Shea has been posting positive vibes about Geralds for 10 days now. Never wavering. The accusations are that Philly piggybacks ON3. Shea runs the ON3 board. I don't care either way but the rules are, give credit to the source. No harm, no foul if credit is given its due. But I'm no mod so I couldnt care less. There are no true insiders anymore. Kids play far too many games these days and money can changes minds instantly. Most of the info is dated as soon as its posted. Just my .02 cents.

I mean, I’m a long time lurker on my second account and can see Lester is a troll and one of the worst. Averaging over 30 post a day for 22 years doesn’t give you “cred”.

I didn't take it as his own. I take it as scrapping news from different social media. It is 2025.

Yeah but it’s not liquid. It’s because the company that he owns 90% of values so high. He would have to sell his position in order to actually have that money and there would also need to be a buyer at that price
