Everyone knows players were getting paid, but it wasn’t these millions that NIL deals are

Get used to LSU and fans being happy with a top 25 recruiting class. Not going to be able to compete with the big money teams and the gap is going to keep getting wider.
You'll get downvoted but you're right. Top 15 / top 20 classes are probably the expectation now. Maybe top 10 once in a while.
The days of LSU finishing with a top 3 or top 5 class are done. We absolutely do not have the money to build elite recruiting classes with the top dogs.
I mean it's beyond obvious at this point as yet another elite player has left the state.

There’s also another solution. It’s called winning games. 11-12 last 2 years isn’t helping.
Texas went 5-7 last year. Doesn't matter. They're cleaning up in recruiting because they have millions in their NIL collective. A&M goes 8-4 every year and signed the highest rated class ever last year.
This notion that we just need to win some arbitrary amount of games to change the minds of recruits is pure nonsense. We can't offer these kids the money they want, so they're going elsewhere. It's that simple.

Yeah but it’s called the Arch effect. Someone we never had a shot with.

He wasn’t expected even going into last years cycle. Only thing is people thought Bama.

DB'S, CB'S/Athletes are dime a dozen. We can get replacements in Lousiana/GA/ Fla etc. I want big uglies on the OL/DL. We need talented big uglies.

Hallelujah!! Finally someone said it!! This needs to be pinned

Don’t worry this board convinced me yday that we don’t want or need Mathews. Cheer up Stars don’t mean $h1t, we’re going to turn all these 3*s into Justin Jefferson and Patrick Mahomes , calm down it’s only June they say.
At least for 3 more days then they’ll use the it’s only July quote, or we don’t need him any way. While honestly it ain’t going smooth in the recruiting stuff, trust me, no melt here just a dose of reality, downvote away idgaf

Arch was never coming
Shelton is expected
Derek wanted out of state
Eli was never coming
Jaiden out of state just like his brother
Zalance is expected
Tackett never expected
Omarion struggled at camp
Kylin either A&M or LSU probably A&M
Jordan was told to camp. He camped and earned his offer. LSU didn’t show “love”

It will become a trend with OU and UT entering the sec.
LSU doesn't have the money these schools do for NIL
I'm not willing to call it yet, I want to give it a few years to see how much of Kelly's meh recruiting was being at ND and how much is him, but yeah, if NIL keeps trending this way, LSU is a wee bit screwed.
Though OU isn't a real threat. OU isn't richer than LSU. At least not to an appreciable level. It's the Texas, A&Ms, Ohio States, and to a lesser extent Georgias of the world who have effectively infinite money and are willing to spend it that are going to be filling the top 5. Alabama might be able to weather it just because of Nick Saban, but long term they're screwed too.

Everyone is getting so damn soft. BK is playing catch up with relationships. Until the NIL game gets regulated, Texas, Miami, and TAMU will get a lot of kids. Give it time before you slam the panic button folks.

Captain My Man
I cherish your info and truly love your posts but you and I have followed this recruiting stuff for years and it’s my legal high, but I’m getting vibes this ain’t going good this year. Maybe next year they’ll blow the roof off, but if CBK is only preaching Graduate Champions sounds good to us, but probably doesn’t impress 70% of these high 4*s & 5* who are planning to play on Sunday and need a little money to help their families for the next 3? Years. Still Captain My Man, I’m just a little more pessimistic than optimistic right now.

Do you honestly think this will get regulated any time soon?
Recruiting is everything. Getting a bunch of 3* and 4* kids will yield results like ND and Wisconsin and won't have us competing for championships. With Texas and OU joining the hour glass has flipped and you aren't afford time when you are paying a coach $100 mill

Man that’s one that will bother me if they let him get away
Posted on 6/27/22 at 7:17 pm to Magician2
Yes. Alabama can’t compete. That means that it will be regulated. This isn’t good for college football. Programs will start to lose money and fan support, which means the NCAA will lose money and support.

Alabama just landed a 5* corner today man.
They will continue to get top 5 classes because of the coach they have.
These programs dishing out money have frick you money. I don't think people like you realize how much more money they have compared to lsu. And they will do anything to buy a championship.

Also, there is a trend where these kids want to get out of LA. I blame some of that on the ineptitude of Orgerons regime paired with the lack of relationships built in the past year because we didn’t “show love” ie Curtis and Allen. Give it a cycle or two for these kids, their families, handlers, and coaches to trust BK.

Watched him in the state title game.. literally changed the outcome of the game on his own. He’s legit.
You would think he’d see a quick path to see the field with our Safety depth chart

No I realize, I don’t think you realize that the NCAA doesn’t care about how much frick you money these programs have, if they aren’t getting any money.

What makes Ausberry worse is LB is a huge need for LSU and he's still probably not going to come here. This year is really weird. Several of the top 10 guys didn't seem like they wanted to give LSU a chance at all. That's kinda bad. At this rate, I wouldn't be shocked if Heard, Jackson and Sampson go elsewhere. One major disadvantage for LSU is the great athletes in hugely poverty stricken areas making those NIL offers impossible to pass up. Might just have to go out of state to get all our replacements but this year so far has been awful for recruiting in Louisiana.
