National recruiting is what made Tennessee great when they had Fullmer. Dooley is just hoping for REGIONAL recruiting, and ATL is already picked over by G Tech, Ga, Florida South Carolina and Clem. Louisville is recruited by the Big Ten, Louisville, Notre Dame and UK. Cincinnati is recruited by Big Ten, especially THE Ohio State U and Notre Dame.

He needs to start hitting the road then. Pete Carroll had always recruited nationally despite getting his pick of the litter in California. Everyone who follows recruiting knows that you can't Mack Brown it at Tennessee.

that includes ATL, Louisville, Cincinnati.

Please stop posting your non sense. Where you got the idea that Louisville is some recruiting hotbed, I have no idea and Ohio State has the pick of the litter in Cincy. Tennessee's priorities are and always have been:
ATL
The rest of GA
FL
TN
The Carolinas
AL/MS
California

The 300 mile radius will never produce enough talent to win. Dooley has acknowledged that since his original comment.

Fulmer dominated GA and got elite athletes from CA. The rest of the roster was filled in from all over the nation. Dooley seems to be taking the same approach. Louisville and Cincy are no more important than Maine.

Copeland (a DT prospect) and Worle (a FB prospect) were buddies that came to LSU together. LSU converted Copeland to FB and Worle quit.
Worle actually help recruit J.C. to LSU from the Vols.

There was more to it than just that... Worle had some lingering injuries that prevented his progression.

Speaking of Worle, where is he at now?

Brandon Worle former LSU Tiger FB has transfered to Coffeeville Community College, Kansas.

How is the situation messed up? Unless the coaches lied to Worle, I see nothing wrong with JC converted to FB for healthy competition.

It was late and no one had answered. I tossed out what I remembered.

That's why he is a good fullback. I love JC. Dude plays his butt off at a position that I'm sure he's not in love with. I think a lot of the success running the ball should be credited to the play of stampley and JC. Dooley needs to realize one cold hard fact. If kids come to LSU they will compete for SEC and national Championships every year. And if they don't come LSU will still compete for SEC and NC championships. It's like a train. If someone bails the train doesn't slow down. At the start of the season I respected Dooley a lot. As the season has progressed that level has decreased several times.

Worle wanted to be a Jacob Hester type back -- he wanted to be a runner first and a blocker second. He showed up to campus and was asked to be a blocker primarily without expecting many touches at FB...it went downhill from there.

I expected both Allen and Worle to be awesome FBs...sucks that neither panned out.

If Dooley thinks that he is competing with Vandy for Tennessee recruits, he has already lost the game. I am not sure he is up for the job but I don't want his Moma calling me.

LSU doesn't have room for everybody. There are plenty of kids that can play in the SEC (i.e. Peters) in this state.

I did not hear of the retraction.
Therefore, at the moment I posted it, IT WAS DOOLEY's nonsense, not mine.

Louisville produces a few 4 stars.

southern Ohio is fabulous and THE Ohio State does not get them ALL. Spencer WARE.

I agree, he has to hit the road. Manning referenced the need to recruit nationally, during his comments. He said, national recruiting has not started yet. Manning was buying time for Dooley to get the recruiting thing happening nationally and gently doing some shilling for him.

I presumed when he made the 300 mile comment that he was dealing with what he had time to deal with in his first year.
I posted on TD then, that he better recruit nationally, or he is a cooked goose.

You mentioned California. That's national.
One of the UTk QBs is from California.

Also, your critique of my use of the word national should be directed at Manning. He said it.

I heard Dooley give the 300 miles story on TV.

I would appreciate it if you would share what he said later, to which you referred.

Also, since you are a fan, can you imagine and SHARE the conversation the Vol Fans/boosters had with Dooley, after he gave that interview on TV, to which I refer? After all Dooley said all that about recruiting LOUISVILLE and CINCINNATI. He was specific.
When in time did the restatement occur?
Thanks.

and remember, this is the LSU recruiting board. If you come on here, there is no need to call me names for quoting YOUR HC precisely, in every respect. I get it that you disagree with him, and that he took it back to some extent. Its NOT ABOUT ME.
