Deondre Clark, Oklahoma City (Okla.) Douglass – The Top247 defensive end has shed a ton of weight since his sophomore season and actually looked more like a big linebacker playing the defensive end spot. His top list consists of all SEC schools and he will find somewhere to play in the conference, be it either end or linebacker. He is another player with a very quick first step off the ball but also is very strong for his size.

what schools are you thinking of?

Alot also offer more in academics

that is true, but academics doesn't seem to be a major factor (otherwise Vanderbilt would be dominating the SEC)

If a guy doesn't like LSU then that's his prerogative to try for another school (whether that's Southern Cal, Notre Dame, Florida, w/e) and I wish him the best. LSU obviously has an advantage of proximity though (making it easier for his family to see him play at LSU if he's from LA)

Not everyone in LA is an LSU fan. That goes for pretty much any state and the home school.
what really gets me is when a kid is going Uhigh and can't bring them in. Or like Landon who was right down the road. Hopefully we don't have an issue with brumfield this year. But seriously, how can you be that close with the school program and coaches and not go there? Guys from N Louisiana I get, but damn.

One of the reasons I am such a big Tiger fan is because I grew up right there around the lakes

Maybe they want to see other places or not be on the same campus/area for most of their school life. These young men have options and the ability to choose where they want to be. Seems like a great position to be in. They are not obligated to stay in state or play for the hometown team regardless if the school is elite or not. There are players every year who want to play for LSU and don't get offers like a Darian Claiborne.

Clark is visiting OU for our Spring game this weekend. As for Cornwell, he doesn't have an offer from us.
