Do you really think Ricks wouldn't ask the staff or that the staff would lie to him? Nickel and dime packages require 3 and and 4 CB's on the field all the time. Injuries. Rotation. 4 DB's in the portal and 2 more declaring for the draft. Ricks is an elite DB who will be on the field plenty no matter how crowded the room is.

Do you understand controlling narratives and negative recruiting? If the pitch to Ricks is early playing time, don't you think other schools would be in his ear about us bringing in a high profile transfer at his position? It may not affect him but why take the chance? You see how easily people transfer and decommit when they don't get playing time or see their chances of playing dwindle.
It could be far from the truth, but its an opportunity for other teams to wiggle in. Kelly and co. seem to try and nip that in the bud. Never said anything about them not knowing about Harris, just a thought on my end.

Yes. They do it all the time in recruiting and no, they're not directly lying to him. They're just making him feel like the priority which I' m sure he is. There's no reason to announce Harris coming over so early.
Some of you sound like you never followed recruiting in your life. Don't kid yourself, BK plays the game just like any other major coach. If he didn't, he wouldn't be landing the recruits.
