You have to love the West Coast connections the Tigers are establishing with this coaching staff. Hughes is the 2nd CB from the West Coast.

Booom ! Thanks for Update Cap'n

FWIW, Hughes commitment will bump us up from 17 to 13 in the 247 Sports composite team rankings.

Yep. They just updated it. #13 now. Finally ahead of USC.

Is he S or CB?
I thought I had a feeling for BK’s strategy but this is throwing me for a loop with all the in state guys still on board

Looks like CB to me. Probably the slot, but that's just my guess.

And for the fun of it, if Jalen Brown commits tomorrow (not counting my chickens but optimistic) we should move up to 8 from 13.

Burnt some quick tape on Hughes from his HUDL.
It’s hard to gauge his long speed (I assume that’s why he is not higher ranked), but he has great technique, really good feet, and is super aggressive coming up to tackle. Instinctually he stands out from most high school corners who may rely more on athleticism. That said, ball skills did not really standout from the film i burnt.

The chicken littles will hate that. It ruins their narative, & they find it offensive.

Boundary corner. Athletic, good length(he’s close to 6’2”), very good ball skills. He used to play WR and be a return man.

How are his hips smash?

Dude doesn't really play like a 3*.
I think he'll end up a stud.

Not sure what film you watched but the film I saw he definitely has ball skills.
Has a nose for plays and where they're going.
Similar to Tyann (definitely on THAT level though).
Dude got a hand in and broke up majority of the passes, had an INT, and was really aggressive to LOS.

LSU got a good one boys!

Corner. We were likely taking 4 corners in this class due to depleted numbers. 3 are on board already. This kid reminds me a lot of Dwight Mcglothern.

Very well spoken! Impressive young man!

I like what I see from this young man! Focused, well spoken, and grounded (chose his parent's anniversary day for his announcement).
