I bet this kid is kicking himself for committing to Notre Dame in 2008. It seems like LSU and him would have worked out very well.

Yeah I hadn't even thought about that.
Thanks for reminding me.
He would have started several games for us.

I think he was banking on clausen leaving early for the NFL, giving him two solid years as starter

Looks like clausen will be there for all 4 though

He walked into that situation with his eyes wide open ... his loss.

I would lean more towards Crist seeing how inept Clausen was in his first year and thinking he could just plain beat him out for the job as a true frosh.

I've asked a few times this year, and nobody seems to know anything. Like the kid fell into a black hole.

I read an article where he mentioned that he really liked LSU but when he got back to Socal he visited USC and was going to commit there until he went to Notre Dame and then finally decided that is where he wanted to go.

So we probably wouldnt have gotten him even if he didnt go to Notre Dame.

The mistake was not taking a qb in 2006. Whoever it would have been, he would have been a redshirt sophomore this year and would have made this situation so much better.

Talk about bad sitting behind a Clausen.
When they mentioned how Jimmy Clausen was the Lebron James of high school football, I knew right then and there he would never become much at Notre Dame. Also, when he decided to roll into the College football hall of fame and make his commitment while showing off his high school rings - what a joke!

I hope Crist is happy warming the bench @ ND, he will only get one year to play, if that. I don't understand the love for ND, they are not the same school they were 30 years ago & LSU graduates more Catholics anyway.

His decision to attend ND was one of the most perplexing of any quarterback recruit I can remember. He simply wanted to go to USC or ND over all others, regardless of their depth chart. ND is a good school so if football doesn't work out he can do fine. Just a strange football move IMO.
