We have taken underqualified guys before.
So why not offer Sentimore, now, then send him to Hargrave or Fork Union if he doesn't qualify? If he does qualify....well, he's a Tiger.

I think that's just about everyone's feeling at this point. But to be honest, withholding an offer until he is qualified may go a long way in motivating him in the classroom. Just a thought.

From "Random House Dictionary of Popular Proverbs and Sayings" by Gregory Y. Titelman (Random House, New York, 1996): "Patience is a virtue. The ability to wait for something without excessive frustration is a valuable character trait. The proverb has been traced back to 'Piers Plowman' (1377) by William Langland and is similar to the Latin, Maxima enim..patientia virtus (Patience is the greatest virtue) and the French, Patience est une grant vertu. (Patience is a great value.) Some ten years after Langland, Chaucer wrote in 'The Canterbury Tales' (1386) that 'Patience is a high virtue.' Sometimes followed by the wry rejoinder 'but virtue can hurt you.' First cited in the United States in 1724 in the 'Works of Thomas Chalkley' (1766)..."

Looks like withholding his offer motivated him to get good grades in Summer school and he looks to be on his way to being qualified.
This is a better question to be asked about Lacy, but apparently there are more issues than grades involved with Lacy.

Sentimore will be qualified by the time he inks on the dotted line THIS (School) year.

I know he might not even play DT, and his commitment would/should never scare McFarland away.... but maybe the coaches just want to be precautonary by leaving not accepting another DT committ until McFarland decides, and then they offer Sentimore bc they know that no matter what he wants to be a tiger?
