Level 6 confidence. I’m an optimist usually, but with the talk of him visiting this weekend and now this it’s not looking good.

Was already a pretty slim chance once TAMU and Oregon entered the picture just from a money position.

How are we supposed to finish top 5 if we can just get outbid for everyone

I think it's too early to say that. If it's like this by the time signing period happens then panic. Legislation just passed a bill to help LSU. Let the wheels get oiled. See what they doing in baseball? You think they're going to ignore the money sport in football? We'll be fine.

The camp offers are starting to roll out and LSU has their big board based on what they saw in camp. It will all fall in place now.

Kinda weird honestly. I know money talks but it seems weird how LSU just disappeared so quickly out of this one.

This will happen regardless but do you guys simply have a short memory? LSU worked the hell out of the portal and finished high with a completely new coaching staff. Did you see USC or anyone else who purged staff do anything close? Everyone is getting outbid right now and recruits are slower to make a move because of it. That's why so many schools have low commits.

Because some people actually thought this wouldn’t become a run away train and thought the NCAA wasn’t going to totally shite the bed on this because they were brain dead. This is pure pay for play and signing bonuses in the form of NIL deals. The richest schools will be the best recruiting schools. We will get our fair share of players but we can’t outbid Texas,Texas A&M,USC,Oregon,or a handful of other schools if they decide they “Have To Have” a certain recruit.College football may not be watchable within 5 years depending on what the NCAA does to try an rope this back in which I doubt they can do anything

Competing against not only Nikey money but also Nike's ability to promote a players image will be tuff for anyone to beat.

I say flip Collins and call it a day at QB. We have 2 freshman studs so it was always going to be tough to get a top QB. Not to mention, new staff, relationships, etc. A great QB that is a bit of a project like Collins is a perfect fit IMO

He was never committing to LSU since the earliest he could have seen playing time was in 2027.

LSU won't get a QB in this 2023 cycle because of that situation. However, LSU must get one in the 2024 recruiting cycle.

Who's the offensive coordinator? Nevermind, I looked kt up. It's a dude that doesn't really have a track record with QBs outside of the kid from Memphis a couple years back.

I get the appeal of going to Oregon, along with the money, but damn man, LSU is an NFL factory and loaded with stud skill players. I could understand if we were competing with USC or Texas or hell, Alabama. Thing is, wherever he goes he'll be behind a guy for 2 years (TAMU, Oregon, Michigan, LSU), so it isn't playing time.
