Lately, I do not understand the draw to Texas. Overall, it is showing in their recruiting though.

247 has their national ranking at #37. No 5 stars

How the mighty have fallen.

Texas will finish in the top 10, Strong just recruits different from Mack. Texas would be filled already but most of those kids would have been committed before they played a snap into their SR year. Takes some a while to get used to this style but I think he gets it done on NSD.

I mean, UT is no scrub. It's not like they're going to be down forever.

Now, if they think Strong will still be there in 2 years, that's another thing. Everyone knows UT has been looking for the chance to move on.

It's absolutely right, Strong will be fired after this year, Texas boosters are tired of him. you dont survive 2 losing seasons in a row at Texas unless you have a huge 3rd year and he most certainly will not.

I'd rather the top recruits that LSU doesn't get go to UT than TA&M

They will win 9 games next year and Strong will stay.

that's too strong of a statement (no pun intended). UT is not a united voice. they are experiencing problems since Mack was canned and since their AD (Peterson) was canned. while they seem to be regressing into their "good ole boy" mode with their new AD, firing Strong is not a certainty, esp if he can turn recruiting around and then win some more games.

as political as LSU is, Tejas is worse.

no, it's not a certainty. But he has his enemies in that program and everyone knows it. He messes up once, and he's gone.

It's unfair, but it's what he's paid the big bucks for.

They were trying to get a feel for who they could actually hire if they fired him this year. One more year will probably be it for Strong. Possibly Sumlin as well.
