What would more money do? Allow frank to manage a national staff of local family of recruits or coaches of talent hotbeds.

It would allow us to draw in the best of the best nationally and not live or die on Louisiana kids.

Save your time Big Ed. Some here cant deal with the truth.

1. The recruiting rules changed;

2. Most major powers (yeah bama)changed their strategy;

3. LSU did not; and

4. Instead of what should have been the number 1 class running away is now scrambling to find 25 players that can play (hopefully)in the SEC.

I completely agree, but that's still called paying handlers. I think your gripe is with the compliance office. We almost got burned big time with Lyles and McCarthy, the money isn't an issue. With all the PR of big fish leaving LA, Frank could get the money. You're under the impression that Frank and Les have to check the bank account before they hit the road and I don't agree with that at all.

While I agree with the first part of your post, I don't think there was anything LSU could do to sign the recruits we lost. Strategy changes or not those players wanted to leave the state for various reasons, and there was nothing LSU could do to change that.

I'm not talking about people like lyles.

Put don shows on staff. Hire April Justin. Hire jrevonte.

Hire an ex desoto coach. Hire someone from Miami.

These additional staffers can form relationships with these kids and see them year round and get to know them and the family.

I'll say this too, I think core6 picking baton rouge over places like Houston, Austin, mobile, Tampa, Atlanta, ect is going to be a gamechanger for LSU.

Like I said, I'm all for that if it gets us the guys we want. I just don't think the money is the issue. I'm having a real hard time believing that the NCAA allows the direct hiring of a recruit's parent during their recruitment. Like I said our staff isn't retarded and they know how the game works, if compliance and the NCAA said go for it then I think we'd be doing it.

I don't have a link and I don't know about his dad.

I know for a fact his uncle worked their camp AS A COACH this past summer and has been recruiting the Monroe area.

NCAA football, especially the yet to be formed new div1, have nfl money making potential.

LSU football pulls in over 100 million a year from football revenue.

LSU doesn't have to pay players like nfl teams do.

LSU should invest at least 10% of their annual revenue/budget to recruiting. If we can maintain an elite team over time, it's more than a justified investment.

I agree. The point being made though is that we put all our focus and efforts into those recruits and when they go elsewhere we are scrambling at the end to replace them with equally talented guys instead of recruiting those guys just as hard the whole time.

The nationally ranked #3 class with several spots still to fill shows just how far behind LSU has fallen.

Alabama is about to sign the 5th class in a row that will be consensus number one.

We have a great staff. We need to support them more.

Would love to do this, but these extra "staffers" by rule are not allowed to recruit. They are only supposed to be able to contact recruits for logistical support for visits. No recruiting is allowed in these conversations. I'm sure they follow these rules too.

You can have up to 4 graduate assistants recruit, but they are not allowed to do so off campus. They can make phone calls provided they pass a certification exam.

You are not listening. There is a purposeful and glaring loophole.

Hire people with pre-existing relationships. They can recruit the kids daily if they already know em.
