I asked the question on the SEC Board and got these responses.

quote:

Depends on who you ask. I'm not too hopeful

quote:

Hard to say. Last I heard, UT wasn't too confident. I know Auburn is involved in his recruitment still, but I don't really get involved with JUCO recruiting.

quote:

He's tough to predict. He was really high on UT early, but has cooled since then. UGA and AU could be destinations though. If Diggs keeps leaning towards UF, causing us to recruit CP harder, and we hire an attractive OC, we could land him. Honestly, I have no prediction at the moment

quote:

He has been raving about the recent Ole Miss visit, who knows though.

Seems open.

Dude can ball. He has the potential, in my opinion, to be a star from Day 1.

So I skimmed through, can gunner bring a big stud receiclver from up there? Someone he has chemistry with (not the class CH3CH2OH). having someone who you've played ball with would ease some of the jitters. Don't know if there are any hi-level WR recruits from where he's at.

I sound stupid on Ambien.

UGA fan thinks they have him but LSU could make it interesting.
Auburn fan says they are only taking one more wr and are hoping its Diggs. If Diggs goes to Fla then they will turn up the heat to land him. They have lead early in the process.

Hopefully he visits and we can make an impression.

I don't want to sound like an arse, but an "easy replacement to RR" is extremely inaccurate because you are basing it on body type and not skill.

RR was one of the top receivers in the country when he was being recruited.

God knows we need him as a replacement for RR but he would be crazy to come here with Miles running a 75% run based offense. I know Mett is going to be a great pssing qb but how far will Les let him go. I think Miles wont let Mett do what he is capable of doing because he is stubborn and wants to run the ball most of the time. This offensive staff is just not very QB/WR friendly anymore. It kills me to say this but its the truth.

A Juco kid with this much hype is not going to choose a school that hasnt shown it will pass for big yardage to its recievers. The kid is going to a program that passes most of the time can give him the best stats to show off for the NFL with his two remaining years left of eligibility.

If that is accurate, then he seems like a take if he has decent talent and can catch the ball.

I need to read up on this kid -- we need a big WR.

This Les wants to run 75% argument is really starting to piss me off. We did that because the qbs SUCKED NUTS and were mental and emotional midgets. Go back and take a look at the offenses of the Russell and Flynn years. That is the offense Les prefers. Can't do that with one QB that can't pass and another that can't handle pressure. It's not hard to understand really. We have been held hostage by our shitty QBs the last 4 years. We ran the same offense in the SEC title game that Perrilloux started because they didn't trust him to throw a lot either.

I've heard some respected people say Patterson is the best WR in the country, period. In college ,jc or hs.

Well tell me this if you were a top JUCO WR and your had two years of eligiblity left would you choose LSU and hope that the staff lets Mett just sling it all day and put up numbers or think well LSU rotates 5 RBs and as far as I can see this year they tend to run the ball more than pass. Leehad been playing great to start the year passing and had one INT before the Bama game and the staff still ran the ball most of the time and gave Lee very limited times to throw the ball maybe 20-25 shots a game. Everyone knows Lee and JJ were bad but what does RR, Shep, and Boone all wanting to leave the program at some point after the season tell you about the confidence of Miles letting Mett air it out?

Be realistic man Id love to have this kid but hes thinking pros and wants to get in the NFL with an offense that slings the football around and as of right now LSU is a mystery. Maybe if this kid were available next year after seeing a season with Mett in Miles' offense but right now its a scary unknown. I know if I were in his shoes Id have to question whether or not Id be able to have the ball thrown to me enough in Miles' offense.

Im not trying to sunshine pump Im just being real about the situation. Im not sure what Miles is going to have to sell to a WR in the future that doesnt not have ties to LSU or is instate to convince them that they can have a productive career in his style of offense. If we sign Liggins now and look to head down the road as having a more running style offense with him and Randall for the future then Im not sure where its going to take us.

Id love to have this guy but I just wouldnt get your hopes up especially with just losing the top pro style QB in the land with no legit back up plan.

I agree completely. We've experienced four years of QB's the staff didn't thnk they could trust throwing the football. They have a guy now who they know has the physical skills to open things up, and I think Miles will be determined to never again be in the position where we are a run-only team. Gotta be more balanced to win it all, and I believe Miles will be anxious to change things.

If you truly believe what you have just wrote why the heck did the staff not play Mett this year instead of JJ and Lee? The staff sure didnt have a problem sitting Lee after JJ returned. If Mett could truly open it up then why didnt they allow him to do so down the stretch with Rueban still on the team? What is going to change over the summer to make you think that now Miles has realized he has a truly great passer now as opposed to all the times this year we needed it?

Id love to be completely wrong but it makes no sense for them,if they knew Mett could change the game offensively, to not play him this year when he was needed.

Im not a gump Im a diehard LSU alum but Im also a realist who can see the writing on the wall. Its just the truth that nobody wants to believe right now because how bad the past 8 days have been. People are trying to rationalize why things happened this way and what could have been done differently but all we have to go on is what we have seen and so far its not very impressive offensively as far as QB play and the passing game.

If your Cordarrelle Patterson what assures you that by signing with LSU that you can make a huge impact in this offense and show off your talents if you commit the next 2 possibly 3 years here. There just isnt enough evidence to convince a free agent like Patterson to come here. I wish to god he would commit but I just dont see it.
