Maybe just maybe Lsu NIL offer/Deal wasn’t even close to Texas’s and he made his mind up when he left BR to commit to Texas, look I hate even saying this, cause I want it to be LSU just as bad as all Lsu fans, but I do believe at the end of the day, money to a 18year old and his parents would be a huge factor!!
I think Durham is ours for sure, Hopefully Simmons as well

When is Wiltfong putting his pick in? He said two weeks ago he would wait and see what happens after the Splash but he still hasn’t put his pick in. Guess he’s waiting until him and everyone else knows where Simmons is going to protect his record.

He put his pick in for LSU in July

At the end of his junior season there was at least 1 Texas insider who thought Simmons was all LSU and everyone else was playing from behind.
That would have been around a year ago. I think LSU has been his choice all along, but he was going to give Texas the opportunity to change his mind. They seem to have come up short.
I guess we'll see, but I'm surprisingly confident. I thought I would be sweating it a lot harder.

This is an everest like climb to get the #1 player out of texas when UT has as much or more money to offer in NIL, and the thrill of staying home.
He's a huge get but LSU recruiting Texas kids is not an "Everest like" climb,
Go get the #1 player from Alabama, that's an Everest like climb.

He said he would wait too see how the visit went before he changed it. He put in his pick a year ago. It’s a testament to how Simmons has felt about LSU for a while now. There was chatter he was gonna commit when they won State but his mom stopped him.

But again, sources Horns247 has spoken with still believe Texas can and potentially will win this recruitment out. Horns247’s Jordan Scruggs remains on Texas with his 247Sports Crystal Ball, and the rest of the Horns247 recruiting staff would agree with that assessment at the moment. (Hank South)
From today

He upped his asking price this weekend by 50%. The good news is he wouldn't be countering if he wasn't interested. Hopefully it doesn't take away too much for other players.

So many of the players we “ missed on” , and many we got, turned out to be less than we thought they would be. And others turned out better than expected.
We are not a one player team. We have enough good recruits that no one guy can make or break the class. Hope Collins comes here but we’ll be fine if he doesn’t.

Cap-what’s your feelings on Simmons?
Posted on 8/7/23 at 11:42 am to Tyga4lyfe
Personally I think we got him

I’ve just checked out. Been too into this shite in the past especially w Ricks last year lol. Just gonna go to work and grind until the 10th. If you expect the worst, the outcome isn’t as sharp

Reading comprehension means that LSU is the leader and Texas can "potentially" win the recruitment....so Texas is behind, not the favorite, and these "Insiders" still keep their crystal ball with ut....I have to agree with you cap, the signs look good. Doesn't mean it's a done deal to LSU...just looks good to me.

It won't end on the 10th. It'll go on until he signs the dotted line in December or February.

That's possible, but a lot of these kids are sick and tired of dealing with hundreds of calls/texts every day for sometimes years.
Make the decisions and stick with it unless crazy circumstances occur (coaching changes, horrible records, etc.)

LSU “insiders” are horrible. Shea and Billy are nice guys but they get lapped by other team’s insiders on the regular
I think the nice guy aspect to both of them does have an effect, but not in the way you're saying.
They are guilty of letting the kids have their moment a lot of times, and in those cases when they could have scooped people, they go silent so the kid can be the one to tell the world. Tylenol Singleton being the most recent example. Bates also.
