I wanted to keep an eye on this and see how/if it changes. The big one will be when Fong is back from vacation and if he flips it.

Listening to the Inside Texas recruiting podcast yesterday and Gerry Hamilton feels like he stays "home" because he wants to be close and that BR is too far.

Hank South from Texas 247 says he has heard from Miami insiders that Texas is the team to beat.

Overall number of visits 5/6 UOVs with one official visit for Texas and LSU is six trips with a OV planned for the Florida game

ETA: Update 1

Mike Roach 247

quote:

I’ll say that my gut has been LSU for a long time unless given a compelling enough reason and I haven’t had that, though it’s been close. One of the more fascinating aspects of this is that even though both sides are confident they are also both wary to an extent. That just speaks to how the recruitment has gone so far. I will say that if NIL plays a role I think that Texas has the most compelling pitch there.

Very obvious LSU heard very encouraging things this past weekend. Shea, Billy, and Sonny all make that prediction almost simultaneously.

Texas insiders haven’t changed anything in over a month.

I think it’s safe to say LSU is in the lead. That can change, but we’re ahead RIGHT NOW.

This is pointless and funny

If you see him pop to UT and Durham pop to OU on the same day there is going to be a nuclear meltdown

I won’t melt. This will be as tight a race as I can remember and we all know that. And it’s a Texas kid.

Even if he commits, it will not matter to signing day. Hate to be a party pooper but that’s with any high profile kid from out of state.

Spiegleman only cares about his accuracy. If it were Texas, he'd change it.

While this is true, a partnered commitment between Collins and Druham would seem about as solid as it gets these days.

So nobody actually knows anything, basically. The Roach comment worries me though - he's plugged in pretty well in the Metroplex.

I agree. Sure, the dual commitment date could be a troll, but I don't believe it is. Why would Caden agree to "troll" the school he's picking (LSU) for Simmons just to pick Texas? Doesn't add up.

I think they come to da boot in tandem.

The last insiders to know are usually the ones for the team that comes in second.

His comment is about hearing optimism from inside Texas.

You think maybe he'd be hearing optimism from inside LSU too?

Neither program is going to take a step back right now in showing confidence. Why would you? Act like you know you've got him (at least publicly) for the next week because it's the only thing you can do.

I agree with the sentiment that it’s gonna be an ongoing battle to December either way

Wouldn’t consider it over until he signs
