Reported by The Advocate. Interim LSU head coach Ed Orgeron told Acadiana High’s Laterrance Welch that LSU is still “the best place for you”. The report noted that Welch, a cornerback and Dlineman Tygee Hill remain committed to LSU. They are among a group of 14 recruits that Coach Orgeron has contacted and is trying to get them to remain committed to LSU.

The BR paper also reported that 247 Sports director of recruiting Steve Wiltfong explained LSU’s situation this way. “Four or five years ago, you wouldn’t fire your coach until Thanksgiving, because national signing day was in February.”

Witltfong went on to note, “But now, LSU is in a position where their job is open to all viable candidates and they know it. They have time to go out and make a great hire behind the scenes, and that hire can be made, depending on who they hire, Thanksgiving weekend. That Coach has three weeks to recruit for his new program before the early signing period.”

If you read The Advocates article, the way Woodward and Coach O have worked this out, it will be very beneficial to LSU football.

When he was actually the coach he bragged on 60 minutes that he barely gets on the phone for 30 seconds with each recruit in an assembly line fashion where each assistant hands him a cell phone and mouths what player is on the line. I'm sure his post firing recruiting will light the world on fire.

This is the 100% the reason you pay out the entire buyout. Happy cookie monster will still recruit.

It has nothing to do with money, this dude has been this way all his life. He truly loves LSU and thats why he is handling himself that way. Enjoy the loyalty, there isn't one coach that comes to mind that would finish like this, including the ones on the top of the list to replace him. Im happy for the move, excited to see what direction we take, but give the dude credit for what is hardly found in todays society, again, Loyalty.

Well, O was going to get his money regardless, but he insisted on coaching LSU the entire season when he could have just stayed home and slain more blonde poohtain.

What coach would ever want to come be a part of this rumor mil that is our fanbase? Where nothing is substantiated yet fact! Keep this up, not only will we never get a decent coach to stay but we might not ever get a decent coach to show up!

Next comes the players who will refuse to come to this school and play for such a dirty fanbase who spends more time bitching and creating fake stories then they do in the stands supporting the team. It’ll be what y’all all deserve too!

If LSU hires a big name coach, the splash hire, pays him crazy money to come and he doesn’t produce right away, our fans will eat him alive! As they do everyone and that will be it for the big name coaches coming to LSU. That will give the other schools the ammo needed to raid the state like we haven’t seen for a long time. Let’s hope the next coach has some luck!

All of that is the gods honest truth. These negative “fans” are only hurting the program at this point. It’s sad.
