Someone is feeding you bad info man. Yancy has not said anyone was a lock. He was the first person to talk about Brassell and Whitehead and CJ wavering though a couple of weeks before it happened and has been on top of things since. But he hasn't called anyone a lock who wasn't already committed.

Let's say you are paying for a politcal reporter. Would you want the reporter you pay for to just go to press conferences and just report press releases? Or do you want him doing the extra research that no one else will do to find the scoop that more times that not is right?
Yancy gets the scoop normally weather you like it or not. He keeps his subscribers happy and is not breaking any laws. Obviously the kids don't mind it or they wouldn't talk to him anymore, but they do. The bottom line is, his subscribers are happy and that is all he cares about.

dunno about yancy, but neal mccready said a few years ago that theres no way LSU was going to land davenport and randle bc neal was from monroe and he had sources to back it up.

Well Neal claims he has no ties to Ole Miss and just covers them because it is his job. Do I believe that? Not totally. I think he does a good job but he isn't going to go out of his way to get sources no one else does.
Yancy somehow knows how to get sources that are pretty damn good somehow. He also has connections to the coaching staff that Neal doesn't have.
But it's recruiting. With 18 year old's, no one is going to bat 1.000. Everything is fluid and if you are more right than wrong you are doing something right.

He's not your typical middle-aged former OM frat guy. He's a pretty "average joe" from Hattiesburg. Dude likes to party, too - I've hung out with him before... this was before he had kids tho so I'm not sure how crunk he keeps it now, blee dat.

If this is the case Nutt, congrats on your one 5 star and 24 two star class. You should move up in the final season rankings next year, maybe even crack the top 50. Maybe CBS will pick up the LSU-Ole Miss game this season. You gotta be pumped man!

its confusing from a grammar standpoint, but it sounds like he's made up his mind.
two questions:
When did he make this statement? If it was after his Ole Miss visit, then that says it all.
Second, anyone know which way the family might be pulling him? Sounds like his mom may have played a role in the decision, or he may have agreed with her.
